  1. Zup's buying!!! That is tempting, hmmm Missouri 800 miles need a Z running for that one...
  2. You should take the 77 to Branson this year Cliff. Swing by John's and caravan over together. Two Blue 77's on the highway would look great. We will get Zup to buy the beers.
  3. Finally, a little good luck to offset the bad. I was talking to one of the guys at work about having to helicoil the hole in the intake. He lent me a nice kit to do it. That saved me from having to order a kit of my own, which I would (hopefully) only use once. And I grabbed a block of aluminum out of the scrap metal bin to practice with. Stay tuned. Yeah. The Pallnet rail options are super clean. I've gotten a lot of inspiration from wheee! and others. Lest I forget to say it often enough, you guys rock!
  4. Good deal! That's why I was suggesting other ways. Now you can get a car cover. Don't give up on the '77, I love mine and I think, from reading on here for five years, there's more information on a '77 than any other 280. Just a coincidence I suppose. Here's mine without the Rewinds. Just like high school.
  5. Here are a couple of pictures of my motor. It is a Datsun Spirit STR stage III. I can't wait to get this project done.
  6. I hope he won the Arkansas Lotto! You know how much I enjoy the cold dogs. I'll have to read up on Branson's gathering. I haven't heard about that one yet.
  7. Or pick up a spare intake and shave it all down. You can grind off the injector mount bossing's too if you use Pallnets 11mm o-ring rail.
  8. I haven't posted in a while. I'm still plugging away. I have been working on the final assembly, and leveling the panels. I want to make sure everything is good before I paint this thing. My motor is almost done. Eiji (of Datsun Spirit) will be bench running it next weekend. I need to make sure I have a home for it.

  10. Hey guys, just letting you all know that I posted a bunch of stuff on Ebay just now. My username is cbanter93 if you want to look me up.
  11. I would go with a helicoil or something similar. I have seen a system that uses a threaded tube and knurling on the outside. It comes with a special drill and fitting tool to tap it in. You see them often in plastic parts. I was meaning ramps, I meant wooden blocks out of layers of multiplex and front and back stops so the car won't roll off. Then jack the car up to fit them under the wheels.
  12. helicoil - as long as it's in straight and deep enough that your fastener doesn't bottom out you'll be fine. the injector fasteners don't require a lot of torque (hence the philips head) so you'll be fine.

im not concerned with that happening in my lifetime anyways. the sandblaster did a great job on the cowl. it was free of paint and rust, leaving a fairly rough surface, perfect for this stuff to adhere to. i can pretty much guarantee it will never fail or rust. we use this stuff at work for sealing metal roof penetrations and have yet to see it fail when properly applied.
  14. My dash was in need of some love so I followed the dash repair techniques on this forum and I think it came out really good. Not perfect but 100X better than it was. I ended up spending about $100 on materials and a good week or 2 of working on it here and there. Heres the materials I used. Plus I used Great Stuff expanding foam and Duplicolor Truck bed coating for the final coat. Used the Great stuff expanding foam to fill in the cracks that were split open. Then I used the bondo bumper repair to fill in the holes Coat #2 Then applied the SEM glaze putty. This required 4-5 coats of applying then sanding. Then primed with SEM flexible primer I used the SEM texture coating to get a decent texture Then sprayed with 2 coats of Duplicolor truck bed coating. I thought it turned out pretty good. I cleaned up my dash support. Then installed my new Fairlady emblem What do you guys think?
