  3. need an honest and fair Z repair shop in the Fremont Union City, California area Any suggestions?
  4. I have access to a lot of good tools and failing that, military grade explosives...
  5. I'd like them back now, please.
  6. I wish you luck. I really do. Never underestimate them. I had one (drivers side) come out so easily I used it again. The second one took two days with a lot of cursing and frustration. I can fully understand gwri8 comments about starting another language. In the end I ended up taking it to a friends shop. With a big press and two oxy torches it finally gave up and come out of its hiding place. Hardway had something similar with one of his pins. I think he started a thread on it.
  7. Never underestimate the effectiveness of brute force, anger and a BFH!

a little progress this past week. we had a cold front move in, so its a bit hard to get motivated when i can only get the shop up to about 55* battery tray area fixed and sealed seam sealer applied epoxy sealed
  9. Did you measure the tires height? Hopefully you can see how tire height + gap = fender well height. You can't have the tire heights the same on both sides, and the fender well heights the same on both sides, without having gap the same on both sides. It's impossible. Fender well height = tire height + gap.
  10. on my 72 the bumper is touching the crossmember
  11. When you dolly a seam like that it typically works best to use a fairly flat dolly on the exterior of the door. With the door inside facing up use a round face or square face body hammer to roll the edge down. Lots of light strikes working up and down the edge. Try to roll the entire length at the same time. Once it's rolled down fairly close use a body hammer with a chisel face and roll the area close to the door up good and closed. When you hold the dolly on the exterior try to hold it under the area where the inner skin meets the out skin to reduce damage to the outside of the new patch. Part of the problem I have run into with this is the new Tabco panels are fairly thick especially when compared to some areas on these cars, so sometimes this is easier said than done...
  12. You forgot to put the oil pan back on.
