thoughts on valve cover. i am trying to keep car as OEM as possible but really like the powdercoated and chrome covers. Looking for

Depending on the rest of the car's theme, I appreciate them all.  Black wrinkle, red wrinkle, polished, body colored, and stock can all look great.  It's a bolt-on part, so it's a great part to customize.

Stay stock, at most just clean or polish.  However, you bought the car to enjoy so do what makes you happy when you open the hood.

I like them all too. I've got black on my 240 and natual bead blasted on the 280.

The black looks good against all the aluminum of the carbs and intakes to my eyes plus it never gets dirty.

 

Black Wrinkle, then sand off the lines and letters like @siteunseen .

If you opt to get any wrinkle coats, use a hand-held heat gun to get the wrinkle finish consistent. I learned this when I used it to coat the triangulation brace.

Bead blast it, and hit it with 2 or 3 treatments of Gibbs Oil for originality.

Vapor blasting gives a very nice original look finish.
