I have used the seal tool and the screw method. I think I prefer the screw method more.

I always feel like I’m going to mar something up with the seal tool, although I don’t think I have really yet. Not so much with the front edge, but the back that is being forced in and possibly the sides against whatever shaft.

With a screw, I typically use a hammer with a block of wood in between and pull on the screw like removing a nail.

I used mine just the other day on the exact same seal. Took like 5 seconds

I’ve owned one of these for over 40 years. Used it hundreds of times.

I use this and think most people do too. Manual transmission.

just got my 4 quarts of redline in. Went to loose the input nut and then took out the drain plug.....there was no oil in the tranny. So here is another stupid question. If trans is separated from the engine with the fluid leak out? Should i wait until i get the 2 re-coupled before i put new trans fluid it?

It's the driveshaft installed that will prevent the gear oil from leaking.  Bolting it up to the motor won't matter.

ok. thanks. i will wait until i get it all back in the car. For me it seems easier to put motor on tranny outside car and put if back in than try to align motor with tranny already installed....maybe i am not doing it properly though

When the tranny gets tilted at a sever angle the fluid will leak out. Wait until its back in the car to fill it.

was just looking at the pilot bushing that came with the Fidenza package. Havent got the motor back yet but does it look small to anyone else.
