Correct - the splash pan's were installed as standard equipment during the 1973 Model Year. (which had all manor of problems with under hood heat effecting the fuel system and carb.s)   The 73+ splash pans had "holes" in them were they wrapped about the sides - where the originals did not.  As I recall the splash pans were added in order to reduce airflow drawn in by the Fan coming in under the bottom of the radiator and increase the airflow through the radiator. A Seal on the Radiator Core Support was also added for the 73 models and beyond.  The first Seals added were bolted on at the Dealerships and later they were added to the manufacturing/assembly lines. 

I thought "prancing horse" was Ferrari.  Anybody know what this is about?

Looks like a Ferrari collector, had a fondness for Z’s, in addition to his prancing horses.  A 73 Z with just 14k miles has got to be rare..

Dude has a lifelong preoccupation with the Z car, he has collected six, and is selling five. He mentioned the kids are off to college, so he and his wife person are going to sell the house, and he is thinning the herd.

I think he needs college tuition money for the kids.

The choke knob is not the correct one, 

Dash looks re-sprayed or something, middle console to, and door panels are not original to, partly refurbished. But it is done nicely.

For the rest.. really nicely done early 240Z

It’s an odd one. Big bore stroked 2.8, running stock fuel injection.

Oh, and a racecar without a logbook.

That tells me the car hasn’t been raced.

I guessed close though before the flaws were brought out. Add the fees and delivery charge $175 sounds good.

I like what Hs30-h said about being original. I slept good last night knowing what I have.
