Original Steering Wheel Colour?

Featured Replies

It seems like nearly every 240z wheel is darker than the brochure photos?  Has anyone restored to the original colour?

I don't recall my wheel ever being as light-colored as in the brochures - it was more of a reddish color.  Certainly not as light as the shifter knob.

I noticed a clock-delete in one of your pics, not visible in any others.

Agreed.

I've never seen a blonde wheel.

Might be that color shifting lacquer they used in 69/70-----LOL

I have made a new wheel in my 240z. took an old one. Took the old fake wood of and made new mahogany around it.. took me 38 hours work incl. 8! layers of paint..

I'm shure when you sanded the old wheel and put blank paint on it (6-10 layers of boat lacquer) it will be brighter, like in the brochures.  Lot's af polishing also needed..
