Stroker 3.1

Featured Replies

I'd go the other way and say stay with carbs.  Yes they're not as easy to setup, cause more hassle etc, however they're part of the car, its a classic car, the engine bay just looks better with carbed setup.  pops/bangs/fuel smell are just part of the fun.

I agree.

There's a reptilian brain response when the triples open up. Ask someone with a V12 and 6 carbs what that does to their brain when the throttle is mashed.

Can't disagree.  Triples have a sound and appearance that is just right on a Z.  In the end, it will be amazing either way.

I probably fall on the side ITB's. I love the sound of triples but there is something nice about being able to dial a setup in just right and account for temperature and a half dozen other variables. As well as easily tune the AFR's with a fuel map...Get in and go...

Completely understand. That's why I have a second (modern) vehicle that handles temp and a half dozen other variables and two 45 year old cars (street and race car) with triples which were set on the dyno years ago. Mikuni and Solex (have both) don't seem to need adjustment like Webbers.

I think I get a little excited when I think about this new technology. This Z is basically a restomod already. Camber plates, coil overs, Wilwoods front and rear. I’ve got another 72 (orange) that remains fairly stock.....I think I’m going FI ITB's and I can’t wait!

That's the future.  Maybe I'll be able to afford a set before I forget what they are (Alzheimer's). :D

Well Guy, have you been driving the silver car much and what’s your impressions  and have you been to the dyno yet, still on su’s?

Very curious.

The car is a blast to drive.....no dyno yet....when it snows, I give it 4 rains before I drive to clear any road salts. We are in the process of building another stroker for the green 72. Eiji will put Mikunis on this motor.

Eiji has started.....a new Stroker “hatched” this weekend. Who else would keep you updated with photos.....I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my engine. Note notches in block.
