Looking forward to seeing you again Bruce!  Janet will be there and you will finally meet her.  She was sick as a dog when she came to NJ.

Wendy & I are looking forward to see you again, Philip. We can always encourage Janet & Wendy to hang out with each other so the guys can all get together and grunt around the cars.

Well the main reason I'm going is to socialize and see cars. A riverboat cruise would be cool, but it would probably be lost on me because I'd be yakking about the cars anyway and not looking at the sights. Tentative plans are to fly in on Thursday. Not sure what time I'd get there, and not sure how to get from the airport to the hotel. I'm assuming there's an airport shuttle. And fly out on Sunday after the festivities are over.

 

The shuttle between the hotel and downtown is convenient, but not worth a hundred bucks. I wish there was a cheaper registration option for people who weren't bringing a car and only wanted to attend (but not even eat at) the awards ceremony.

 

And yes, someone needs to organize a couple "Classic Zcar Club" events so we can all meet up. I heard that SteveJ was in charge of that...

 

Remind me to avoid the hotel bar while they're doing karaoke.

 

Philip, You two will be in your S2000, right? You're not bringing a Z are you?

 

 

 

 

I know that IF I don't bring my car, I won't be the only one in that situation, but not wanting to go without my car.

I'm not too sure mine will be ready either.  But the 280's good to go, I just can't lock the driver's door.  I need to fix that anyway. 

My thoughts on the registration went like this. It was my understanding the rooms were $20 cheaper a night with the registration, for me that's $40. Then the meal at the banquet is what $20 or more. Then the shuttle another $20 or so, allows me to not worry about transportation or whether I can drink or not. Then that really cool T-shirt.  So that was about $80 plus the shirt plus any other perks I don't know about. Also I look at it this way the registration goes to furthering these events and making them possible in the future and I am ok investing in that.

I'll be there. Can't wait to see some nice cars and meet folks from this site

It looks like the Memphis Hilton is all booked up...that is frustrating. don't know if I want to go and stay somewhere off site...

Yeah, I was considering staying off-site as well to save $$, but went with the Hilton.

 

I think there are a couple other hotels in the immediate area... Would you like me to poke around online and see what I can come up with?

Charles, I posted a question about alternate hotels over on the Delta Z Club page on Facebook. I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Christopher Karl with the ZCCA said the alternate hotel will be announced on Monday.

There are a number of other hotels in the area if I am looking at the right google map. East side of Memphis off I-240. There is one across the street. Not sure about quality and the rates will be a little higher. I know several I have looked at are booked up too.
