I was Nacogdoches last weekend and saw this Z up on a stand in front of a used car lot. I didn't have time to stop so I checked out online. The robovoice in the video described it as "two hundred sixty Z".... kinda got a kick out of that. That and the 1975 listing even though it has an RLS VIN number. The car looks good in the photos. http://www.peppardautoplex.net/1975_Datsun_260Z_Nacogdoches_TX_157066287.veh#

I was thinking about putting some Watanabe R-Type rims on my 1973 240z. I was wondering if you guys had any experience with the rims to the type of car? I was thinking maybe 16x9.0. Does anyone know what the offset will be and how it might look like? Will it be necessary to put in some fender flares to compensate the offset? I'm sure someone out here's got some sweet photos of their Z with these type of rims.. Here a link to the ones I'm looking at: http://otomoto.shop0...EF/14665711.gif http://media.photobu...ls/WAts15x8.jpg

I just received my October 2012 issue of Automobile. To my surprise on the front cover there is a title "Scion FR-S vs Datsun 240Z" The article runs from page 70 to 76. There are some great pictures of the silver 240Z alongside the FR-S. I only read the beginning of the article to learn that Nissan allowed the journalist to use the 1971 Vintage Z that Nissan owns for this article. Just wanted to share this with all of you in case you want to purchase this magazine while it is on the newstands. I will be reading the complete article tonight after I get all the items on my Saturday to do list done.

Forgive me if this has already been covered, (I didn't come up with anything after a quick search), but what type of spark plugs are most people running and how often do you change them? I've always used NGKs and I change them about every 10,000, but I curious to know what other people use.

Some months ago I bought an AM radio from Ebay. When it arrived the faceplate had been broken in two. The break occured directly down the center of the amtena switch hole. And the bottom corners had been broken off at the screw holes. Additionally, all of the chrome letters had been worn off from 35 years of use. My original clock was not functional either (surprise). So I bundled both items up and sent them off to the master. I got both items back last weekend. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the faceplate. It was in one piece, the corners had been rebuilt, the broken faceplate was now one piece and the raised letters were now silver/chrome colored. It h…

Many of the cars on this list provided styling cues for the 240Z...the Jag E-Type, the Aston Martin DB5, and the Ferrari 250. All have "sugar scoop" headlights, long sculpted hoods, and similar rooflines. I can see more of the Ferrari in theZ than any of the others. Comments? http://autos.yahoo.com/news/the-10-most-beautiful-cars-of-all-time.html

I am selling my 1977 280z. The manufacture date is 12/76 and it has a 5 speed. Does anyone know if this year and trans. makes this car rare. It needs restoration so I'm not sure what to ask.

Don't get me wrong, I still love her. I'm just not in love with her anymore. And there's a new car (that could be) in my life. I really enjoyed the Z when she was my daily driver. Honestly she's not the best DD, but overall it was a great few years. Now however, she sits in the garage too much. I rarely take her out. I enjoy it when I do, but I really need an exciting DD back in my life (I'm currently driving a 15yo Exploder) and selling the Z would do that for me. Next month will be 5 years of ownership, but I may not make it much past that. *For those wondering, the new car is the Subaru BRZ. Which is very much a modern day Z car.

I have searched his Jay Leno's Garage site and Googled it many times but come up empty handed. I know he did a video of his Datsun 510 a few years ago but I cannot even find that now. If anyone knows about his Z's I would love to hear about them.

What I've Learned: Sam Cabiglio Mechanic, 66, Monterey, California Cabiglio, who has been rebuilding Porsches and street-racing cars since the 1960s, manages Jerry Seinfeld's vast collection of classic Porsches. Italian cars have always been beautifully designed, beautifully sculpted, wonderful to drive, emotional — but not always reliable. It's kind of like how a really, really attractive female may be a delight, but she may also be a little bit of a pain. You could add maybe 20 percent more power to a VW, but I needed way more power. So to the horror of my father, I removed the engine from my brand-new '64 Beetle and installed one from a Porsche 356. It was not a 100 …

Does anyone know where I can obtain a set of vintage Oregon license plates? I'm looking to get two of them for the correct year my car was built (1971).

I was looking around for some suspension upgrades for my '73 240z, and I came across Techno Toy Tuning. I wanted to know if anyone knew anything about them, if they are good quality, reliable, the works.. Tell me what you guys think! Originally, I was looking at Arizona Z Car's Ultimate "Track-Pak." Now I know that the Track-Pak is more complete, but its really expensive. Although I would have barely enough for the kit, I was thinking that if I got the Techno Toy Tuning set up, I could save a few bucks for some other things. What are your guys' thoughts? Should I get the suspension upgrades form Techno, and get some cheaper rotors and brakes? Or should I just dive into t…
