Hey guys, So I’ve had my original owner, 82k mile, 72 240z for almost two years now, and i'm thinking of selling. Honestly, the car is great fun, but I never drive it. It's not a car that I can/would take on long trips or drive daily because of many reasons (ride quality, noise, no A/C, creature comforts, etc.). So it just sits unless I’m buzzing around town on a Sunday. I really miss having something fun/fast up to the task of a DD. I started my datsun/nissan adventure many years ago with a 300zx twin turbo, and have owned two over the years. I'm seriously thinking of returning to my roots. I really love those 300zx's, and it's a car I can drive every day (in comfort…

Fingers crossed. I've been in touch with a locksmith who assures me that they have original key blanks marked; Nissan Motor with the Z logo. Price quoted, = $22.oo Aus. for the first key and $7.oo Aus. for each key after the first. That's cut from a key supplied. It's dearer if they have to cut from the code as supplied. I gave them the numbers as stamped on the keys I currently use; Ignition, = MZ 12, and; Doors, Hatch, Fuel, = DAT 6R I'll check them out when I go into town next Thursday. As I said, Fingers crossed. Rick. :devious: :devious:

I am trying to find someone/place that sells the door locks and hatch lock. I currently have to use two differnt keys and would like to get everything to one (except ignition). I did a search and found recommendations for a couple web sites, but they didn't list them. So......does anyone know a for sure source? This is for a '71 I picked up last week. Thanks in advance for assistance....this site has a lot of helpful folks from what I have read. -Bill-

Well, here's the story. My mom has a 1993 Mazda Protege with 197,000 miles on it. She's thinking about buying a new car, which means I get the Mazda. I want to turn it into a front wheel drive sleeper, which means a motor swap. The only badass front wheel drive motor I know of is the Cadillac STS, but are there any Japenese motors (not Honda or Acura) that would be a good powerplant for a little project? - Ian.

I found some original mud gaurd for the 240Z that was wrapped back in 1972. I found it at a abandon parts store(We pull, you buy kinda part store). How do I know it was wrapped up in 72?...the newspaper's a 72 "The Sun"(Some of you older gen may remember the days when cars were $2500 new. I just thought it was pretty cool to find this after a week of owning my 73 240Z. Yeah... the newspaper is older than my Z.
