I am looking at Dashboard Restorations, USA, to restore my trashed dash. They are out of the traditional "haircell" type of covering material and are sending me a sample of an alternative material, which I should get shortly. Any thoughts on type of cover I should use or not use? Anyone out there who has had their dashes recovered lately have any ideas or thoughts? If the haircell material is the desired cover, I can source that from another company, if need be. I appreciate any input! Thanks!

i'm about to receive my A-pillar and rail vinyl kit in the mail, along with a new headliner. does anyone have any pictures of their own installation that i can reference? it seems like i once saw pictures of the vinyl work being done on a red 240... also, any advice for order of installation or technique? EDIT: i've seen the vinyl installation section in my copy of wick humble's book, but any further insights would be appreciated.

Hi, the driver's seat in my 1973 240z is broken. The back is still attached to the seat bottom, but it does not stay upright, so in other words its not locking in place. I don't want to buy a new seat as I don't have the cash, so what could be the problem, and is it easily fixable? I was thinking it could be the hinges attaching the back, but all i can find is hinges for a 280zx seat. Any help is appreciated!

Question for anyone who has installed Corbeau TRS or CR1 seats in their Z, did they bolt right in with the Corbeau mounts? I have read that lots of people have modified the mounting brackets to deal with headroom issues. How much do the Corbeau brackets raise the seating position? I am 6' tall and there seems to be lots of room with the stock seats. Also did anyone have issues with the seat hitting the door panel? Thanks!

Hello, I have a choke knob and a throttle knob on the console, yes I added a throttle knob by myself during its restoration about 3 years ago. But I have been thinking why there are 2 types of knobs? The round one is original,we know we can see it in the brochure, the square one is also from the factory but it seems later production parts? But Nov 1969 parts catalog's picture shows these knobs are square type. Which is original for my march 1970 240Z? Please see this, http://www.geocities.jp/datsunz903/choke.html Thank you, kats

Well it finally happened. To make a long story short, when I bought my Z I was informed that it was rust free. Well come to find that was not exactly true. (go figure). Under my battery tray, I'm guessing right at the top of the floor board there was a large chunk of rust. It wasn't bad at first, well it is now. Today in Tucson we had a bit of a downpour. Making my way to school I sadly had to drive the Z through a rather length ankle deep puddle. (by long I mean oh, a eight of a mile or so). Well when I got to school I checked my floor board for moisture. Well come to find, tada its wet. (Oh no:disappoin). When I arrived home I went straight for the rust spot. And come …

Hi all, Because the original shift stick and upholstery was plain ugly on my 260z, I decided to remove the console. I knew the PO had been busy making holes in the center console and ruining the whole thing. When I bought it: http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000105.jpg Center console and damage... http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000726.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000708.jpg http://i813.photobucket.com/albums/zz51/H3nrY_/Datsun%20260Z/P1000732.jpg I want to cover up the holes, and make it a bit more attractable so I started my home made botch job Made some nice woo…

I am trying to gauge interest in whether there is enough interest in purchasing a set of Seat Cushion Guards. Please vote in the Poll. The results will indicate it if is economically feasible to reproduce the guards. Thanks, Keith
