Radio Options 1 2

I've been looking into radio options for my 73 240Z and found a company that will take your radio and update all the internals but maintain the original face plate, housing, etc. It will even maintain full function of the pushbutton presets. It's not cheap, but provides a lot of options that you can pick and choose. Options include, bluetooth, hands free phone, usb, flashdrive, mp3, etc. You will end up with a 180 watt 4 channel unit. I priced it for mine with all the options and the price was $550. The web site is: www.tech-retro.com. They have a good video on the site that demonstrates the unit and all the features. The actual work is performed through authorized dealer…

I'm trying to get the original one back in and it's giving me a fit. I'm thinking unhook all the hvac cables and completely remove that face plate/cover? Any tips would be great news for me. I'm stumped at getting it in with all the wiring behind it. Can't line up the back bolts to the chassis. Thanks for ANY ideas.

Has anyone taken the seatback hinge apart that has the large high tension spring coiled up? Safely that is lol? I'm in the middle of a seat restoration and have the seat type with the full recline. The side with the lever and gear / spring is pretty easy. The other side I'm worried its not going to go back correctly or I'm gonna be in for a big surprise after I pull the pin and washer off. I've done some reading here and saw the same question from about 10 years ago but the replies never seemed to follow through on the answer. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I've started the degrease process and was going to paint everything a nice satin black. There's a …

I am trying to install the large rear plastic trim pieces in the hatch area on my 1976 280z. I am having trouble getting the pieces around the ears that that hatch struts bolt to. Both sides. Are the ears supposed to unbolt? Mine are tack welded in place.

Hey everyone! My 1977 280z has the infamous split sun rooves from a dealership. I know they are extremely undesirable (I am not restoring my car to make a profit) to collectors, but they are so practical I absolutely want to keep them. Anyways, as some of you may know I just got my dome light working. As it turns out, my car has a second light alongside the dome light that perfectly lights up the interior (I never once noticed this light until it I fixed the dome light). I can't seem to find much written material on these rooves, and even less photos, but it looks like my interior is missing some sort of trim piece that covers the bare aluminum and light…

The surface of the fuel, oil pressure and clock gauges in my 240z have some scratch and i have decided to paint them before installing them on my car. Has anyone done this before? I believe the faces of these gauges are made of plastic. What will be the restoration procedure? Should i use sanding paper first and then use a can of flat black spray? What about the interior of the gauge will it help if i paint it in White color so when i install the leds it lights up much better?

If its a series 1, i want it all to be original.... can someone post a pic of their series 2 please? Also, if you know where to get one in VG shape or better let me know. How much should one cost btw?

Just picked up a pair of Cobra GT3 seats to replace the Procar Scat seats which came with my newly purchased 240Z. What is the easiest way to adapt them to my current bracket?

So it's been a while since I removed the dash on my 73 240Z restoration. Since I'm getting old I don't remember things as well. I'm getting ready to re install the dash and could use some help jogging my memory. On the bottom of the dash on the left side there is a bare piece of metal with 4 holes in it. I can't remember if this part of the dash just rests on top of the steering column bracket or if I have to remove the steering column mounting bracket bolts and sandwich the dash plate between the upper and lower halves of the column, then reinstall the bolts. I've included a few pics to illustrate what I'm talking about. Any help greatly appreciated. Paul (zeb…

I ordered a reproduction dash from Vintage dashes December 2021, finally received July 2022. Been psyching myself to do the replacement, since dashes a wiring are not my favorite to work on. When I purchased the car 8 years ago, it already had a full dash cap installed. It actually looked okay, but the tach has never worked, and a cap prevents the removal of the gauges from the front, at least for me. So I really couldn't do a proper repair of the tach. And I want to fix the clock, which always reads 2:40. All other gauges work fine. Here's the new dash: Here's the old full dash cap. Also the glovebox door fits tight and has a str…
