  2. Still don't have the strut fiasco solved yet, but seat belts arrived!!
  3. Saw this on my news feed 1970 Datsun 240Z | eBay Found it this article Incredible Barn Find: An Early Datsun 240Z With Just 7,000 Miles The listing claims the car was built in '69, but the tag in the door looks like 9/1970 which is more in line with its VIN HLS30-10683. Right off the top the shift knob doesn't appear to be wood as it should be.

  9. What a cool song! I like this better than Howlin' Wolf's OG version. Kind of sad after watching Wolf's documentary. His mother hated him for singing "the devil's music". Beat you @Zed Head hahaha!

  11. 3M has always worked well for me.
  12. Does it not catch onto the threads, one side of the notch isn't turned up a little? I don't understand any other reason for it.
  13. Awesome, thanks! I took a look at my plug, and there's nowhere the notch would catch on. I'm just curious why its even there to begin with at this point haha.
  14. Notch against plug according to these guys.
  15. I've always heard the flattest side goes against the pan. I've never used that specific washer though so maybe someone can add better information.
  16. Cliff, here's another work of art for you. A.I. is a wondrous and amusing thing. 😎 But, not 100% accurate in all cases.
  17. Hi gang, I'm changing the oil and it looks like the crush washer for the oil pan drain plug bolt has a small cutout on one side. Does anyone remember if the side with the small notch cutout go against the back of the plug bolt, or does the side with the cutout touch the oil pan? You can see the cutout on thezstore's page here any ideas? -chase
  18. I was trying to figure out was happening and went to the "home" page, saw this work of art...
  19. Yes, Ive seen the Element ads at Hagerty. I think that could be a good option
  20. I've been considering one of these https://elementfire.com/collections/allproducts?srsltid=AfmBOop1i3bQdDrnL5UNuRlAc9IKXHMnzZQNFkACtpUP9xFyZ-Q8Bepe I'm looking at the larger one, the E100, as it has double the 'run time'.
  21. Yeah, there was something wrong with the forum. Wasn't working properly, but it seems to be back now.
  22. Exactly. I'm not bemoaning the good deed that I did, but the delay is really putting a damper on my shakedown time!
  23. As an ex fire and burglar alarm engineer... i advice you a 2 ltr CO2 fire extinguisher, they leave no recidue as powder makes a MESS! I'm surprised that halon is still available, in europe i believe they are no longer legal!! (Halon is often used, or was used in computer environments.. halon just takes away the oxigen in the air so if your ever in a room when halon is coming in, leave as fast as you can you will not be able to breath in there!! BTW, yesterday i could not react or make a new topic, maybe some russians in the lines... :-o

  26. @pjczc8 I would hope that the white stripe is only on one side. If so, just mount them black walls out. I had some BFG Radial T/A with the raised white lettering on only one side. I had them mounted black lettering out. EDIT: Don't know if you can tell from the photo in my sig, my wife's truck has Radial T/A's black lettering out.
  27. Nothing special. Just KYB gas. The really silly part is that I HAVE a set of KYB's here already. The plan for them was to put them on my 77 280 as part of a project I have planned for that car. But since I was working on this 240 and running out of time, I figured I would use those KYBs on the 240 and then buy another new pair when I was ready to move forward with the 280 work. So.......... I tear the 240 apart. Break one strut down and get the old cartridge out of it. Open the KYB box I have here, and......... There inside the KYB box is a note. In my own handwriting. I sent the small gland nuts to another Z guy some couple of years ago because I wasn't going to be using them. I need the big ones for the 280 and I didn't own a 240 at the time. The small gland nuts were surplus to me and someone else needed a pair. So I sent them away. Aaaaaaarrrrrghh!!!!!
