  1. I need to replace the shifter bushing in my early 240Z, manufactured 8/70. I know that the very early Zs were different from the slightly later models. I suspect I have an early transmission, but I'll confirm that later. What I am particularly interested in is the gaining access to the bushings. Is it necessary to remove the center console or can they be access from beneath the car? I think of taking out the console to be a real pain, so if I can avoid it, so much the better. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Dear members, Yesterday my dad just bought a Datsun 240z with a 280 motor swap. Today I figured I’d just check under the car for any oil leaks. And sure enough there was a substantial puddle of oil. Right underneath the u joint. Any one an idea what the cause could be of this leak? Some observations we made: tranmission whines a bit (is this normal behavior?), the car jerked a bit yesterday while accelerating but later stopped jerking. car has been restored (in 1998), recently new fluids: transmission, engine & diff. Also so the right floor pan is rather wet and greasy from underneath the car. I hope sincerely someone can help us out in finding what the cause could be of this oil leak. Thank you in advance! Kind regards, Winston BAE3CD68-CBF7-4EEF-AF46-43474CCDC331.MOV
  3. So as the title says is pretty much my problem. Now getting into more detail explaining the problem. Under acceleration it shift perfectly normal and accelerates fine but, under acceleration in 2nd gear the shifter itself wobbles up and down under acceleration, all other gears do it very minimal more so vibrates for the rest of the gears but 2nd gear you see it move up and down. Is this normal? Is this a sign of problems to come?

Dear Forums, I have a '77 280Z and I wanted to install an extender for the stock shifter to decrease the distance between the steering wheel and the knob. From what I understand, the original thread size is 8mm....is that correct? I can't find an extender that fits that size. Anyone know of one? Thanks!
  5. I know this is not an emergency to many but I took my early 4 spd transmission out to swap with 5 spd not knowing the shifter was different.I am now in limbo until I can find a shifter I know it is my own fault but I am learning.Any help would be appreciated.I have some parts if someone needs a trade or would buy outright. Thanks

I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone that reproduces the JDM 5 speed wooden shift knobs. I had a JDM one accidentally fall and the plastic lense/gear map shattered  I was hoping that someone made a repro I could buy?
