  1. Maybe. But as long as the question appears to be somewhat serious, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt.
  2. Serious power increases will require significant money. Power = money, how fast do you want to go? That said, if acceleration off the line is the issue, you're best bang for the buck would be a rear axle ratio change. But the ZXs already have lower ratios than the first generation Zs, so even that might not be as affordable or effective as it would for an earlier car.
  3. There were a few heads on some ZX Turbos (P90a, but apparently not even all of those) that had hydraulic lifters here in the US, but only those few. All other heads were/are solid.
  4. I knew that. As I said in the Twice Pipes thread, other people have already done all this research before you, to no avail.
  5. US only. Was built by a company named Clifford Engineering, and marketed both by Datsun Competition and Clifford directly.

Nope. A user here (70z4fun) was trying to find a clone of that system for years. He gave up looking, and then recently bought the NOS system I was talking about.
  7. Many aftermarket electric fuel pumps are known to be loud. Definitely should be rubber mounted, but I can't think of any other tips past that. Well, maybe try a different brand and style... This is one of the big reasons that I still rely on the original mechanical pump on mine.

No longer made. I saw an NOS set of the exhaust itself (no matching headers) offered here in Oregon a short while back, but I know for certain that they sold to a guy who has the correct header to go with them.
  9. I've bought a few things for them for the Zs, and others in the distant past for the MG. Yes, their customer service is pretty fair. But IMO it needs to be, because I've received bad and/or incorrect parts from them many times over the years, far more frequently than from any other mail-order or online vendor. Without looking into all my records, I'd say as a guess that close to 50% of my orders from them over the years have had something that was wrong or defective out of the box. They've always made it good with little or no fuss, but still... I've learned to never use them if I'm in a hurry and a delay to re-ship the correct part will mess me up.
  10. Maybe no one is looking for seats right now. I've never had any problems selling things in the Classifieds. Which is where these ads really belong....

I do know that there were differences, but I don't know any details.
  12. Good stuff, Randy. Looks like a lot to work with. Blue and red were offered with certain exterior colors.
  13. I don't think Nissan has them for 280Zs any more. At least, that's what Z Specialties (who offers rebuilt units on exchange) claims. http://www.datsunstore.com/product_info.php/cPath/40/products_id/275

Here's mine from several angles. Mine is from Classic Datsun, using the original BRE molds. The MSA version should look similar, but I've not seen one of those in person.
  16. I think that describes most - if not all - of us...
  17. I think the heater control valve is vacuum controlled on a 280Z, as is the the doors that diverts airflow to the defrosters. So fixing the vacuum lines may fix both heater issues. I would hope the manual you downloaded has info on that as well, as I don't know much about the 280Z system past this. Good luck!
  18. Here's one easy way. There are others as well. http://www.courtesyparts.com/1970-1973-240z-a/c-r134-freon-p-228048.html
  19. Well, in my experience, these cables don't often break all at once. They wear and fray over several years time, until finally the few remaining wires part. So if you should - heaven forbid - take the time to check it now and then, you can catch it long before it breaks. A new cable assembly from Nissan (part number 65640-N3300) is about $35 brand new, comes with the pull handle and mounting bracket. I think it even came with the firewall grommet pre-installed. I replaced mine last year. I don't expect to have to do so again for many more years.
  20. I've got two. Both are within .002" of being the same.
  21. I didn't have a picture either, but since both the camera and the antenna are easy to get to...

OK, I should have said, "I can't see any reason that twice pipes would be better for performance on a mostly stock street driven car than a single exhaust of adequate size tubing." I'll concede that there are flow characteristics that may be advantageous if properly developed. I also strongly suspect that most exhaust shops do not have the knowledge to take advantage of this.
