  4. Dear Abby, I've never written to you before, but I really need your advice on What could be a crucial decision. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. The usual signs... phone rings but if I answer, the caller hangs up.My wife has been going out with the girls a lot recently although when I ask their names she always says, "Just some friends from work, you don't know them." I always stay awake to look out for her taxi coming home, but she always walks down the drive. Although I can hear a car driving off, as if she has gotten out of the car round the corner. Why? Maybe she wasn't in a taxi? I once picked her cell phone up just to see what time it was and she went berserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth, but last night she went out again and I decided to really check on her. I decided I was going to park my Datsun 240Z next to The garage and then hide behind it so I could get a good view of the whole street when she came home. It was at that moment, crouching behind my 240Z, that I noticed that the valve covers on my engine seemed to be leaking a little oil. Is this something I can fix myself or should I take it back to the dealer? Thanks, Gary

  10. The ethics would not "depend upon how the business is set up". The ethical and moral code of the business owner is the guiding principal. As a CPA, I deal with many businesses that are undercapitalized or poorly operated. Unfortunately, too many individuals take funds that are not their own, either employee wages, vendor funds, IRS tax monies, sales tax monies, or customers monies, and use these funds to sustain a business operation or personal lifestyle. At the end of the business lifecycle, some business owners do not satisfy all their financial obligations and society as a whole has unwittingly subsidized the business operation or (even worse) personal lifestyle. In some instances, legal requirements force the business owner to make all parties whole. In other instances the ethic of the business owner place a moral obligation on him/her to make all parties whole. I do not know specifics of Sport Z Magazine financial situation, but only can look to the final financial satisfaction of their subscriber base to demonstrate the ethics of the business owner.
  11. Perhaps the honorable thing for Sport Z Magazine to do is to refund the unpublished prorated subscription fee to each subscriber and allow the subscriber the privilege to decide what magazines he/she prefers to patronize. I am certain an ethical person does not want to feel that they are stealing money from people who purchased a 1,2 or 3 year subscription. Keith
  12. Dan, I'm right there with you. So how do we resolve the ball joint issue regarding the smaller diameter ball joint replacement? Thanks, Keith
  13. There is no USA domestic part number for the seat protector. Several years ago (15-20), the local Nissan Parts Manager sent a request to NMA to determine the part number. Since there were not OEM seat units in the warehouse, NMA could not confirm the existence of a replacement protector. The message the PM received back was that the protector was mounted on the first few USA bound production vehicles and then dropped from production. I have thought over the years about having reproductions produced, but hesitate because there is no certain way of determining a demand. Keith

  22. For those of you who are familiar with the Series 1 ball joint have discovered that in 7/70 Nissan changed the size of the ball joint from a 11mm thread to a 14mm thread. Since the 11mm thread is has not been available from Nissan for at least 20 years, this change requires the Series 1 owner to replace the steering knuckles to accommodate the 14mm size. Naturally, this change affects the originality of a restoration project. I have been approached by an aftermarket vendor who has approximately 16 NOS of the 11mm thread ball joints in a warehouse. He is interested in selling as one lot for $75.00 per unit. (Comparable aftermarket price of the 14mm thread is approximately $40-$45 per unit.) Now comes the question; should I buy the old stock and offer them for sale at a price of $95.00? (I do currently have 4 old stock that I purchased years ago for my personal use.) What are your thoughts? I do not want to become a vendor of old parts, nor do I want to gouge someone when it comes time to sell them. Life is too short to leave someone with the impression that they have been ripped-off! Thanks, Keith
  23. I have a few new 11mm ball joints in my spare parts box. (They are not Datsun/Nissan but rather oem replacements.) How many do you need? Keith
