  1. Hey don't worry same thing happened to me except I got transmission fluid in my eye yukky to this day I hate the smell of transmission fluid it smells very strange and I always think of how I copped it right in the face. .
  2. Why do u think I wanna buy it .
  3. I don't see why the other guys T-Shirts are allowed to sell they clearly say 240z and Datsun on them. Maybe it's the official Datsun LOGO? You know the blue and red symbol.
  4. Man I really wanna buy one would you ship to Australia? Wouldn't mind a copy of each one. :classic: Damn she's a piece of work.

From what you've told us it sounds like a valve has broken or something like it. Do a compression test on all cylinders to determine wheather it's an internal engine problem. The fact that it made an awfull grinding noise when u tried to give it a roll start would indicate something internal on the engine. Anyone else have any ideas????
  6. Well I finally saw CrackerJack. Two things got me about the film 1 was the fact that the 2+2 was driven by Mick Maloy and the other was the apartment they used. It's located in Collingwood and believe it or not I actually did some work on the place with my uncle who's a construction company owner. We erected (yes funny word) the wall that would subdivide the place. You see it was a factory at one stage converted to a house converted into 2 places. The place where we were working from was the one they used in the movie looked a bit different as the furniture was all dolled up but it was actually filmed inside and outside the place. By the way the 260z is heavily featured in the movie as he operates a dodgy car parking scheme. The new movie Bruce Almighty has a 280z 2+2 I believe in it and I'm suer someone has mentioned it in this thread but thought I'd say again in case I was wrong. Cheers
  7. These are very hard to find unmodified in Australia. I've always loved them although a stock one wouldn't be my cup of tea. I've only ever seen 1 510 2door here in Australia and I've always wanted one since. Good luck with her.:classic:

I'm not expert but from the description you gave us sounds like an internal engine problem. That rattling noise could very well be a valve issue, I'm not sure what kind of problem a fly wheel could present but thinking about it the only problem i could see is if the clutch had binded itself to the flywheel. When you say drop the clutch were u actually dropping the thing to get your wheel to spin or just letting it out? If the clutch had binded itself to your flywheel I suppose it could stop the engine spinning freely and cause it to stall. Maybe some more descriptions of where the noise is/was comming from and maybe someone else will be able to chime in and give an explanation. Good Luck.
  9. Nathan you are not asking an unreasonable price. You just haven't found a serious buyer. Don't dispare it's just a matter of time. :classic:

Now not saying you should buy this car and no I'm not the owner :classic: . The rest of the car looks great from the photo's. Sure rust in the roof is not great and repair can warp the roof if not done correctly. I think what it comes down to is what the owner intends to do with the car? My Z has rust in the doors it's pretty bad in some parts but it's not gonna stop me from enjoying it or fixing it up. I think you could use this as a bargaining point for the car. If the rest of the car is structurally sound then I wouldn't worry about a few holes in the roof. Be more worried about the chassis, you wanna check the car hasn't been in a big accident. That's my 2 cents.
  11. Off topic here but there's 2 reasons I like the 240z better than a 260z. 1.) I feel the Dashboard looks better. 2.) I much prefer the 240z rear lights and the way they stick out. There's other small differences but there the main 2.
  12. I think the dashboard is so that all the instruments work with the new engine. Not my taste either but neither is a SR20, sounds like alot of work .

Alan can you enlighten us with the rare spares website? I could not find it at rarespares.com.au or rarespares.com hope they don't come up as links. I'll give google a shot and if I find it post it here for the others. Thanks.
  16. You dirty little boy and btw u got me on the other post. THe Porn Freak one.
  17. Thanks dude I was fairly sure it was an alignment issue. It makes sense afterall the toe in is controlled by the tie rods and steering adjustment. It just seemed so severe that I thought I'd done something wrong. Probably bad wording there, but what I mean is that I was not expecting it to throw things that far out of whack. I've been meaning to get the front aligned for a while but knew I was gonna have to do the tie rods anyway so left it. I'll let you know how she is after I take it to be aligned. I think you've mentioned before it's best to get it done professionally with the computer systems they use these days as oppose to doing it the long way. And for $50 it's not worth the time I'd take doing it anyway. :classic: . Thanks again (Feel better now).

Hi don't know if I can help but on my 240z I changed the ball joints and I did notice that the crown nut was a bigger diameter than the original ones. I thought maybe it would not go back into the strut as a result but I didn't have troulbe with it. However with my ball joints I got The Crown Nut and the Pin that goes through that with the ball joints. I think I only paid $60 for the ball joints $120 for both sides. That's in AUS$$$ so would be really cheap compared to US$$. The tie rod ends is what stung me $198 for both  GermanZ I love the leather Datsun seats you have absolutely magnificent. It's one thing I've envied of Porsche owners is there high quality interior. I'd love to treat my Z to the same goodies and get my door skins done the same.
