Why waste $ on turbo when...?
I can completely understand the point your getting at Alfadog. It's not like i hate these people who do these things to their car I just like making a bit of fun of them. I'm not old only 21 so there's no what my parents did i'm doing now. Rather i'm more or less sick of seeing a lancer coupe with boring mag wheels and alteza lights on it. With a windscreen sticker , Yes maybe i do feel i'm superior in my Z but who here can deny they haven't? Look these guys obviously do have the money and work hard but money can't buy everything and 1 thing is obvious everytime i open the magazine HOT4's is that money don't buy taste . So maybe i am a little harsh and maybe I should be a little more tolerant afterall I don't know everything and maybe sometimes I think i do. However I do try not to be stereotypical and as Rusty was saying about the guy with the carbon fibre bonnet. I guess it's more a case of what floats your boat and ricers don't float my boat. I love it when i see a mustang in mint condition or any other muscle car of the day as usually they don't have the fart cans or huge jet fighter rear wings.

Clutch Suppliers in Australia
Ahh Hello new member thanks for the offer but i took care of the clutch 2months or so ago. I ended up going with A PBR RPM clutch with hardened teeth and heavy duty clutch plate. I also installed a lighter flywheel and have been fairly happy with the current set up. Once again thanks.

Rusty you should upload pics of this beast can't wait to see it. Sounds really mean does your shift light make you look like a circus when it lights up at night. I think those ricers look like a bunch of clowns at night .

Valve & Port Sizes
This is just a general question about our engines and possibly applies across the board. I am wondering though why the intake valves and ports are so much smaller than the exhaust ones? It seems to me that whatever goes in must come out so why does so much more air come out than in? Is this the case? I was just looking at some of the new uploaded pics and it's always puzzled me that to make power in an engine it's the quicker you get it in and out that makes most of the difference. Can anyone explain this to me?:cheeky:

this is awsome!
I could almost apply all to myself don't feel bad even if I've never had 32 Z cars if I had the money I probably would have.

Limited Slip
yeah AUD but yeah a LSD seems like a much better option even if the car only see's the road and not the race track.

Limited Slip
It's the 4.4 ratio that I really want from it. From some videos of cars I've seen trying to corner at high speed with a locker they just understeer and end up locking up there brakes. I was told parking in a Z with a Locker isn't so bad for some reason but yeah I've always wanted the LSD anyway so it would be the way I do go. Not sure we will see the main reason I was gonna buy it was the price. $250 or so and to me that was pretty cheap for a normal diff. :classic:

Which one you like better?
I think if you want options you should be looking through this sites gallery there are some awesome Z's hiding in there. Try my gallery for a start . It's funny i used to like whale tails. The other day though i saw a 240z with one here in Melb YUKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!! looked like a 80's Rx7 with one of those crappy body kits icke. Incidently my 240z has the front bumper but no rear one. I think it looks tuff without the rear bumper but I have been thinking of putting it back on lately when i can afford to rechrome it. Yes I'm with Alfa chrome everywhere blacked out is for ricers(no offence anyone ). I think the best thing with the bumpers is to have them just the single piece without overiders and possibly even all holes filled and no rubber protectors but then again they can look ok aswell.

Limited Slip
From my limited knowledge this is what I had thought. The 4.4 ring gear would certainly make it rocket and maybe I'll put the locker in there while I save the money to make her a LSD . :classic:

Limited Slip
On the topic of diffs. I can get my hands on a 4.4:1 diff but it's a locker. From the picture of what another member showed with a locker the welds seem to be unreversible. Seeing as I have little knowledge of a diff I am wondering can I use this 4.4 ratio and convert it to LSD? I have heard a locker is no good for cornering and that's no good since I love corners . But the acceleration

What defines a 240Z a classic?
I think the early 240z is a classic for several reasons. the first being it's excessive demand on release it was always a popular car and very sort after. It has a strong and successful race history meaning it was an excellent platform to make go fast not just in a straight line but around corners. The sexy looks haven't changed it was designed for an era but designed forever. A great car looks good today and tomorrow a good car looks good today. The dash I believe was the first of it's kind a trademark copied by many. The dodge Viper has a similar style. I think a classic is a car that is so good others decide to copy it. I think many of the styling cues of teh 240z have been passed on to other cars. In Australia a 240z is a rare site and 260z getting rarer and even now 280zx not so common well a good condition one anyway. So rarity also helps to make a car classic because people want what they can't have and often if they can't find it easily they can't have it easily. The fact that so many examples were butchered during the 80's early 90's doesn't help with an all original car being easily found. If they were easy to find in original condition they'd be worthless. Everyone enjoys being the first person to play with something and sometimes we just enjoy having it as a time capsule that represents an era where car manufacture was perhaps in alot of ways better. I could go on and on but at the end of the day I think a classic is what the others have said something that when you see it makes you happy or excited sometimes i get extremely excited by an old car. There is a big difference between lets say a $60k BMW with some office W@n%er showing off in compared with a throbbing exotic engine note from a car that's got gleaming paint and you know he only brings it out every so often. I just love the Z because I love the way I sit in it. I love the dashboard design the gearstick position, the long friggin bonnet and the torquey yet relatively small capacity engine. (Compared with an 8). Everytime i just get the car out and down the street I love the first feeling of the throttle and the noise my car makes it stirs something inside thats for sure. Also I too notice alot of attention from people when driving I've been asked many times about the car it starts conversation with people i usually wouldn't speak with. I get double takes all the time but I try to ignore it these days as I have to keep focused on the road not how much attention i get .

2" SU CARBS on an L28
Yeah but the difference between the E88 and N36 manifold is nothing spectacular. The big difference comes from porting them.

You might need a DIVX codec if that's happening. I'm not sure what they were encoded in.
