  1. Hmmm. So you cant change gear with the engine running? But you can change gear with the engine off. Can you put it in gear press the clutch in and start the engine? or does that make the car lurch forward? I think maybe your clutch exploded, and isnt disengaging any more.
  2. They are R33 GTR wheels. Nixcars would know, that's his car. check out his gallery: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=3241&thumb=1
  3. One for the starwars fans: http://www.roadsquadron.com/Cars/Hwing/
  4. Wow Alfa. What brand of polish are you using? I'm gonna get some.
  5. I just found this site for model z cars: http://www.ne.jp/asahi/z32/na/ Use the menu on the left, and the next button to get the next menu of models (there's 3 of them). This is the most complete list of model z cars by manufacturer i've seen, and they are with photos.

  7. Ah, well. Hang around here then. We'll help out whenever we can.
  8. Hi dfr867 Viper engine sounds interesting. The chassis would definatley need strengthing. I've seen pictures of a z with the frame rails extended to the rear sub frame, and out to the sills in 2 places either side. Here's the chassis measurement diagram I was talking about. 240z-chassis-measurements.zip
  9. Hey dfr867 Youll probably find more information on modifying these old cars on www.hybridz.org
  10. Also There is a PDF image of all the chassis alignmnet measurements floating around on the 'net somewhere. I have a copy at home. Dont know why its not up in the downloads section. I'll have to find it and upload it.
  11. Come on guy's give the guy a break, its only his second post here, and he's probably not up to speed with all the "correct" terminology. the easies way to replace the chassis, it to buy another car. But what he probably means is repairing, or replacing the frame rails. On a side note, I've have wondered how difficult it would be to weld up a full space frame chassis, and bolt on all the z bits.
  12. So did we, but not Twin Turbos. Anyway the guy metioned the 300zx, how many variations of the 300zx does he have to go through? z31,z32 - both a 300zx.
  13. The performance info is at the linked site. follow the link. whats 158kW in horsepower?
  14. Yeah, they are. The Z is definetly a better looking car, so is the fairlady.
  15. It's interesting this this thread poped up when it did. I'd seen a silvia advertised for sale where I live, before this thread started, and searched the internet and found the one for sale in victoria. I worked out that getting the one from victoria wouldnt be worthwhile. By the time i got it transported, and done the restoration on it, it would cost more than buying the one that was for sale locally. And i already have a restoration project, my 240z. So I went and looked at the silvia. It's a little modified (flared guards, mags, blacked out chrome), but I couldn'd resist owning such a rare classic nissan, so I bought it, and will be picking it up this sunday. My new toy:
  16. Awww come on Alfa. Putting a Pink torana up is going to bias people against it. Some info about the Torana http://www.fastlane.com.au/Features/Gold_Torana.htm
  17. I dont think he mentioned the 300ZX TT because they never got them in Europe either.
  18. They dont have to be very tight. Its not like thay are holding the head together, or are under any great pressure. They just have to press the gasket to form a seal, and be tight enough so the parts dont move around. Do them up too tight and you'll be pulling the studs out of the soft aluminium heads.
  19. Get an RA28 I used to have one, and my brothers got one. they look great. There's one over here that has a lexus V8 in it.
  20. Is this a new radio? I think the red wire is the switched wire (the one that goes off when you turn the key off), and the yellow one is the always on one (not switched) so that the radio remembers the presets and keeps time. The cigarette lighter is a good choice for the alway on (is it always on in a z?) . also the original radio circuite is good for the switched power source.
  21. Does this car have an alarm or immobiliser? because that would drain teh battery also, so would the clock.
  22. The electric Fuel pumps were exteranl to the tank. It's very possible that a PO could have removed it. They humg off a bracket that was bolted to the chassis cross member under the boot floor panel.
  23. Thats not the only one in australia. Theres this one also which isn't a GT-R but they claim it's spec'd up to GT-R specifications, which is wuite funny when toy realise its got a L28 instesd of a S20 twin cam. This was probably a GT-X. http://www.c-red.com.au/stock/kgc10/index.shtml
  24. You guys are gonna love this. http://www.enthuno-mori.at-server.com/nissan/20040208nissan/ here's a seek peek:
