  1. This video is much funnier, because what happened wasn't supposed to happen. It's also an rx7. rx7 blow.zip
  2. For those with dialup, the engine didnt actually catch fire, though there was plumes of black smoke pouring out the radiatior when the engine was running before it died. The exhaust was glowing red from the engine back, and it set fire to something under the car.
  3. I would say this much rust is too much. See photo.
  4. Yes it is possible to put 260Z struts in a 240z. Yes the 260z inserts are longer for the 260z, Nissan did this so that the rear struts would have more travel. No 260Z inserts will not fit in 240Z struts and vice versa. (well they will if you dont mind them banging around). Sounds like your struts have been swapped out for 260z items.
  5. I find cameras work best Where are you from Rusty? This would be a Right Hand Drive car?
  6. It's a Japanese Domestic Market car. Its a Fairlady Z (the fact that it is registered as a fairlady 2 means that the person that entered it into the registration system couldn't read properly). It's neither a 240z or a 260z. Its has a 2 liter engine. If you want to compare it to another model, its closer to a 260z, as the 240z never came out in a 4 seater body. So does your car have fender mount mirrors? Are they electic, and does it have electric windows also? These were options on the CGS31.
  7. Some early grills were also silver gray, the same as the rear panels. I think mine was under the black paint when i stripped and restored it. but that was ove a year ago now, and i cant remember exactly.

Damn your laws are Harsh!! In Aus it doesnt matter if you have your drivers license, rego pagers or insurance papers with you or not. Most people keep that stuff at home (apart from the Drivers licence) All that matters is that you have a licence, (sat the tests, passed, and keep paying the renewals) not whether its in you pocket when you are driving.
  10. Did you report him to ebay?
  11. Hi Gav, looks good, but you really should use tables instead of Div's.
  12. I didnt know what it was from, just found it somewhere, but since you told me i did a search on google, and yes it is. Seems that they drove: 240ZG, s800 (like they would catch anyone in that) and a Cobra Models: 0030502416002,FUJIMI,2800YEN,YOU'RE UNDER ARREST 02 1/24 FAIRLADY 240ZG with FIGURE, 0030502416003,FUJIMI,2800YEN,YOU'RE UNDER ARREST 03 1/24 TOYOTA S800 with FIGURE,Picture 0030502416005,FUJIMI,3500YEN,YOU'RE UNDER ARREST 05 1/24 427S/C COBRA with FIGURE, also found this: http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache:j9osKj1-enQJ:caselaw.findlaw.com/data2/californiastatecases/b121351a.doc+under+arrest+240z&hl=en weird, the things you find with google.
  13. My brother was at the door of a night club when the Bouncer asked to see his ID. My brother got out his driver licence, which the bouncer took and examined. Then he asked "When's your birthday?". "4 of Feburary", replied my brother. "What year?" the bouncer asked. "Every Year" said my brother. He could tell the bouncer wasn't amused, so he quickly told him the year.
  14. Pity their website sucks so badly. If they has some pictures of what they sold they would sell alot more. If they want an online product catalogue site developed, they shoud send me an email. Will work for z parts
  15. I've seen 280zx body kits on Australia. Theres a 280zx at uni that has a bodykit. Its still in grey primer though, but has a front spoiler, side skirts and Flares. Gonna take a picture of it if I see it this week. Also there was that hideous yellow one that was for sale (think it was in melbourne). Someone put photos up of it. It was $15K or something ridiculous.
  16. Just go down to your local front cut engine importer and slip them a carton of beer for some badges off a import.
  17. He was being sarrcastic bill. that's not cheap at all.
  18. I took digital photos of the wiring loom before pulling everything out of my 240z so i could remember where everything goes back.
  19. I was going to suggest www.rarespares.net.au and go to the online shop. But I had a search on their online shop and they list tail lights for the F100/350. Anyone know if they will fit a 250? And bringing it back towards Z related stuff. Search for 240z and you will find replacement panels for the 240z such as complete door skins, sills, floors and the hatch panel that always rusts.
  20. Quite easily, depending on how often you rev it out to 6000, how old the clutch plate or pressure plate is, maybe it was a cheapo brand, or maybe you poped one too many burnouts with it. I dont know. Eitherway, you are going to have to drop the gearbox out to start investigating the problem. If you are lucky, it's just the clutch. If you are unlucky, it's the gearbox.
  21. Get it sanblasted and repainted, minus the bondo. Thats what I'm doing to mine. I striped it and found a number of horror stories hiddend under the paint. Layers of bondo, straige onto bare metal, which had just started to develop the beginnings of surface rust. I'm lucky I caught it when i did.
  22. 2 x 1972 240Z's (currently only have 1, sold the first one ages ago) 1 x 1975 260Z 2+2 (parts Z) Thats it as far as Z go. I have a '65 Silvia. and a 82 honda accord 2 door. have owned: 77 liftback celica RA28 (the mustang style one). Mazda 808 Coupe and sedan. 3 x Commodores XY Falcon wagon Laser TX-3 4WD TURBO DOHC I think thats all.
