  1. Personally I think its your car now, so do whatever you like with it. But I know what I'd be doing with it. Cleaning it up, and reselling it to make about 5 to 10 grand on it, and then looking for another car to do the V8 swap into.
  2. I'd keep on trying to ring him. Otherwise he'd end up selling it to someone else, and i hear that stewart had all the hard work done already (rust cut out and welded).
  3. No. Just saw it on the website, and though that cant be worth $5000 if it had to be in the quokka 2 weeks. 240Z usually sell on the first week. Maybe no one has looked at it? Did you contact Frank about the cars he bought off Stewart? I hear he is selling them, except the race car 260.
  4. Yeah they came on the single carbie version of the L24 engine, like the 240C to 280C and 240K (and according to the haynes maunal some of the 240/260Z cars without emission controlls, but i dont know where they get their info from). Hope you didnt pay much for it. If you want to lower the HP output of your engine, put it on.
  5. Sean You see the 240z in teh quokka for $5000? was on the website which means its been in the paper fro 2 weeks.
  6. How wide are they alfa?

  8. I was under the impression that lsd back plates had cooling fins and non lsd did not.

  19. Contrary to popular believe these carbies dont actually make very good boat anchors.
  20. TO DETERMINE THE RATIO (internally) If you're not sure which ratio R200 you have lying around the garage, check it this way: Remove the rear plate (drain the oil of course). Then rotate the large ring gear until you see some numbers stamped into the edge facing you. If it's a 3.54 it will read "39:11" If it's a 3.70 it will read "37:10" If it's a 3.90 it will read "39:10" If it's a 4.11 it will read "37:9" http://geocities.com/zgarage2001/engine.html scroll down the page till you get to the part about diffs. I thought they had 3.7 or 3.9 in the 260/280Z, though that site recons it would be a 3.54:ermm:

  22. 10 in the Us huh? Apart from beinf RHD is just a 280z 2+2. You are better off with the bigger engine of the 280z. There are lots of 2+2's in Australia. I cut one up into little pieces a few weeks ago. Just doing my bit to reduce the number of rusty z hunchbacks around. The only good 2+2 is one that been striped for parts to save a 2 seater. Just kidding. I've seen 2 really nice 2+2's. Not all of them deserve the crusher.
  23. I see he's dropped the starting bid to $15,000 Still no idea who this Phillips person is. Goolgled for it and didn't find out.
  24. $19,000 for that? And its not even the reserve price He's Dreaming. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2030&item=2483528310&rd=1
