  1. No not all hls30's are the same. Its different.
  2. A single turbo would be so much easier.
  3. It was just cost cutting. Some S30z's had mirrors on both sides (JDM fender mirrors for example), just not in the US. No untill the later style mirrors that were on the 280Z.
  4. They look to have been painted with vinyl spray or similar (can of spray paint perhaps?). Thats why the chrome strip is black too. It's actually blue underneath the chrome foil. p.s. dont get me started on all the problems with ebay. Although, i've had mostly positive experiences.
  5. Yeah I thinks that's the problem right there:
  6. As Lennon would say, I saw the news today, oh boy! Out of control fires in the west, floods in the east Cyclones in the north. Sadly, 3 truck drivers lost their lives when a fire storm engulfed the major highway to Kalgoorlie, trapping the 3 trucks in a blaze.
  7. What floods? There are floods? Nobody tells me anything anymore. Don't forget the drop bears. I heard it was all some Mexican guys fault, Al Nino or something or those butterflies flapping their wings in Africa.
  8. Another car site I'm on used to have problems with the site being unavailable. They wrote a cron job script that checks whether the site is up or not, and if not, it restarts the web server. Works well. Since it was set up I've never noticed the site being down. Maybe something similar could be done here, depending on why the site is actually down in the first place.
  9. Most ladies like new cars, not rusty, smelly old Datsuns.
  10. Nissan didn't create all L28's equal. The 280C was probably rated at less power than the L28 fitted to the 280Z & ZX. I say probably because I'm not sure on the figures for that car, but the L24 fitted to the C110 Skyline was around 20HP less than the same L24 fitted to the 240Z.The C110 also used a downdraft 2 barrel carbie. I would guess that the heavier cars engines were tuned for more torque at the expense of maximum power. Edit: Yes good point Arne. 80 kilowatts = 107 HP
  11. Some of his stuff is ridiculously priced.
  12. Each have there own problems. If S30 owners want to check for rust in the window frame we have to pull out the front window. You can just pull off the trim. S130's have the modern style of window attachment, the window bonded to the seal, S30's have the old school window surrounded by a rubber seal.
  13. Before all you S30 owners get alarmed, thats a problem specific to the S130. S30 window seals and trim are different.
  14. ok then. Pics of my ZG mirrors: http://www.nostalgictrio.com/blog/?postid=19
  15. I got some ZG fender mirrors.
  16. Not common? Down here they are. Every 260z came with them from 74 to 78. (and technically, the 2+2 is a coupe).
  17. That will give you no idea, since its for US cars.
  18. Think that only works in Australia Rick, where they kept records. Have a look up under the dash, still should be the original paint. Then compare that to the z color project page thing. http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/index.html
  19. There is no information in the vin other than GS31. That didn't start until the 80's. There is no way to find the information you want, unless Nissan kept records associated with your specific cars VIN.
  20. Link to more photos of the car? I wanna see what front bumper it has.
  21. Oh man, thats hard reading. Paragraph breaks are your friend. I only got half way through it, and couldn't read anymore, probably got half way more than anyone else, which is probably why no one replied. I've heard these cars have problems with the cold start valve, or thermotime switch. I think they are just different names for the same part The system keeps the fuel rich enough for cold starts. When they go it makes the car impossible to start. So I'd start with that. Also hybridz.org is probably a better place to ask about EFI, and definitely the place for ZX and V8 swap info.
  22. Wow, seemed like her Dad cared more about that car than she did. "The car had been kept either in a garage or under cover on and off for the last 10 yrs" - Mostly off I would say. I's probably been sitting in the dirt there for at least 5 years to rust like that.
  23. People that drive Mazdas shouldn't throw spanners
  24. Any 240K's there
  25. The first 240Z I bought was stolen in Sydney by a crook on the run. Was driven all the way across the country, where the cops nabbed the guy in Albany (WA) for a busted tail light. (Note to crooks, If you gonna steal a getaway car, take one in good condition, that wont attract police attention). Car was in poor condition, and was written off by the insurance company, instead of transporting it across the county again, so ended up at a wreckers in Perth, where I bought it. In it I found the crooks getaway map, with towns circled in pen, and the words "Fill" written, indicating where he was going to stop for gas.
