Fuel Injection Upgrade Options
Thank you Steves. I have heard so many pros when it comes to going the EFI road that I am know more convinced then ever in concentrating on developing the EFI system. Steve C, you have summed it in one sentence "When I hit the ignition to start it purs when I dump the clutch and hammer it it roars". And I bet this is after the car has been left sitting for a few weeks or more too! This is going to be a long haul project as I need to firstly spend ££££ on a good re-spray, new weatherstrip. badges etc.. and then go all out on the engine and injection system. I am glad there are a few of us on here!! I will let you all know how things progress but as I said this will be a long project!

Fuel Injection Upgrade Options
Has anyone gone to town with EFI on an L28 in a 240Z?? i.e, a custom programmable ECU system, bigger injectors, aftermarket injection throttle bodies on a Weber type manifold etc.. What have you done and are you happy with the results??

How to get pin striping off?
I've heard that a hair dryer can work instead of a heat gun.

Datsun Again!
Could this work against us?? Imagine if the Datsun name was brought out to become synonymous with a cheap no frills car.

Puting 280 FI on 240 head!!
Jeff, I want to help you but I dont know the answer. I have a 2.8lt FI in my 240Z, it had a 280ZX engine dropped in with all the FI trimmings, but not by myself. I havent heard of your mod being done as I think most people would prefer to go for the L28, but that doesnt mean it cant be done. GOOD LUCK! :classic:

A Q on lighting...
Hi Enrique, I had just read and replied to your PM prior to reading this. Many thanks for the information. The prices seem exceptionally cheap for the Light units.

It's being brought bacK!!!
It is a fine beast. I did hear that it can not be called the GT40 though due to a kit car manufacturer having a Trademark to the name... or something like that.. Ford never got round to Trademarking it. Maybe someone else has heard this too? It is definately on my dream list, jsut in time for Father Christmas.... mmmm...

What is exactly sealed beam??? and last BUT by no MEANS LEAST....are there any pitfulls to look out for when upgrading the lenses/bulbs?? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!

Dancin' amp gauge...
If you have a mech. Volt reg then adjustment can be performed fairly easily with the Haynes Manual.. Give it a go but as Daniel says replacement will always be easier! If it is a sealed unit you can only replace it.

Dancin' amp gauge...
You could have a bad voltage regulator, if you have some powder stuff on the battery it would suggest its overcharging and needs to be changed if a sealed unit or adjusted if its a mecahnical one.

Attack of the cigarette lighter
My cigarrette lighter has always operated like that. You soon develop a nack of catching it in your left hand (my car is RHD).

here is some GREAT information
At the end of the day .... (what a great line eh???) Beandip did ask what people thought of the link... and Alan quite rightly did just that. Alan (who is quite capable of defending himself and I am stepping out of line here, but unfortunartely I think more clarification is necessary) I am sure wasnt making a personal dig at the writer of Z Garage, whom alot of us are MOST grateful for his VERY useful web pages - me included, he was just clarifying some points he has noted when looking at the site. If someone knows more info. or knows a better way of doing something, then that person should speak up for the benefit of all. Alot of people I am sure HAVE the knowledge and either: A) Keep it a closely guarded secret for themselves Can't be bothered to participate and just read threads C) Or are too timid to speak up and say... well actually I dont think thats right. Just my 2 pence worth

Useful parts from an S12??
Thanks Alan for the input. If I do restore it it's going to be after I get to the 280ZX and who knows when i'll get to that?!

Useful parts from an S12??
Hi all, I have a 1.8 Turbo S12, do you know if any parts will be useful for my 240Z?? I have heard that they have a 4.11 diff.. can it easily be modified to fit a 240z?? Any other bits that can work??? Thanks..

Pics of my Z in her new clothes
James very nice. As for aapiss's question on can the original paint be bought. Any reputable paint shop can mix any paint together, i think they must have a reference of ingredients which constitutes whats in a certain Car Manufacturers paint code No. so once they know that all they do is start mixing.

Snowflake wheels
For anyone needing a bigger pic of the snowflake wheel, or a selection of wheels that will fit the Z's. This page on Zparts.com provides for good reference. Wheels and loads of them **EDIT** just checked the page, no snoflakes on it at the moment, where last time I checked. Still a good page of wheels to look at.

240Z Newbie here
If you do decide on a V8 swap or an unorthodox engine in a 240z then as Ivan suggested the hybridz web site has a ton of information. If you do decide on a V8 swap then you need to also check this site out www.jagsthatrun.com . They also offer a book on the 240Z V8 swap which i have heard is a bible for this type of conversion, they also supply all the bits you'll need. Good luck.
