Welcome Red-Eye, nice 240Z. Is that roof painted or is it the rare vinyl roof? Chris
  2. Picture 2 is some sort of manifold for either vacumn or water. Never seem so many different hose ports though. The canister (pic 4) is a gas fume filter/absorber mechanism. Its got a replaceable element in it. Tied into the emission control devices. One on my 240SX and Xterra. FWIW, Chris P.S. From a website: "a vent line leading the vapors to the activated carbon canister where they are stored", "Fuel vapors from the carbon canister will be mixed with fresh air taken from the engine compartment."
  3. Thanks Will! Some of our members might freak out at this, but here's a little personal info from me to you all. My son is in daycare. The mom is from Morrocco (sp) and the father is from Libya!! They have two daughters of their own yet they treat my son Alex better than I could have ever expected. They are strict Muslim's and I have absolutley no problem with that. The fact that my son is safe and sound from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm is what matters most to me. FWIW, Chris
  4. Exactly. But I am the first to admit that its a very hard thing to do. Will, as a new father myself (he'll be 1 on the 11th) I hear what you're saying. You stated several things that I strongly believe in. Its just too bad that others want to push their beliefs/customs on others. But reality bites sometimes. Please take no offense from any of this. 280Z got me fired up. Chris
  5. Excellent response. Its a shame more people didnt and don't see things as you do. I didnt vote for Bush. I'm non-partisan. I believe in what a person stands for and what his/her past record is. I completely understand your rage in the other post. But you are preaching to the choir. And as long as you understand that it takes a HUGE amount of effort to affect change, then you are OK by me. I like your attitude. I just wanted to see what direction you went. Yes, you're young, but you'll learn. Like I have. You just have to remember this, sometimes ignorant people cant learn. No matter how many times they're told. And even if its laid out for them right in front of their faces. Hang in there man! Chris
  6. Sheesh, pretty exicted for an 18 year old. Have you even filed a tax return yet? Chris P.S. We were attacked because not everyone is as clear headed as you.
  7. Did I miss something in this thread? I dont think so. You must be joking! Chris
  8. Check out this link. These are the same as I run but mine were made in California. You'd be better off to buy them then have them made. I would think locally they would be more expensive. Maybe not though. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6&PHPSESSID=5e8822934c24c5bdc583c30f8d8f635c Much luck, Chris
  9. Every 240Z I've owned has had the stock rear speaker in the left rear.
  10. Very nice S30 illustration Alan. Chris
  11. That was fantastic. The Lotus was great. I watched a guy in a Sunbeam Tiger do some AutoX once but never like either of these guys. WOW. Chris
  12. ChrisA commented on EricB's gallery image in Big Z Photo Collection
  13. The crank pulley is keyed to the crank nose. Cant fail. Much luck, Chris
  14. I must not find the humor in it but its Duke McBushy anyway. Chris
  15. I had a 1979 310 that was Ziebarted. They did a good job and the car never showed any outward signs of rust. It was a daily driver that lived in the Rust Belt. Lots of salt on the roads in winter. If the shop sprays it on correctly and its good metal to start with, you shouldnt have any problems. Much luck, Chris
  16. Luke, if you have any GM/Holdens with the HEI distributor, the module from that is what you'd need for that conversion. I'm running one made by Accel on my 72 right now. Chris
  17. What if it's a SUPER Walmart? Signed, Ricer.....err Chris
  18. I feel so much more empowered now after that quiz!! Guess I'll run over to Wal Mart and reserve a copy of GT4!!!! When I put the turbo motor in the Z will that make me a Ricer? With some machine gun jublies on the front bumper! I like Mike too!! Chris
  19. Gran Turismorator You scored -23% You are a respectable tuner. You probably subscribe to one or more tuner magazines and know, quite a bit about your car and/or racing in general. Either that or you play a shitload of GT3. At any rate, you recognize the difference between a wastegate and a blow-off valve. In time, and with practice, you may attain "Racer X" status since it is supposed that you are relatively new to tuning and still have much to learn. Keep, working, and thank the maker that you're not a ricer. I used to play "a shitload of GT3." Chris
  20. Do you have any close up photos of those Vicky? Disregard this post. I went to your gallery and found the one of the drivers side front. Looks good. I'm actually building LED's to fit the stock side marker lite housings. I'm casting new lenses without all the reflex lines on the inside of the stock lens. With the LED boards I've already made and the new lenses it should be nice. Chris
  21. Thanks Enrique. My 73's hood sits correctly when closed, my problem is when I pull the release it doesnt pop up enough to easily get your fingers on the lever to open it. Any suggestions? Parts are all new as is the seal on the cowl to the hood. Hood is flush with cowl when fully closed. Thanks, Chris
  22. Thanks Ed, I usually wear tank tops in the summer so mine gets a lot of exposure. Good idea on the forearm. I once thought about going Ozzy and doing 240Z across my knuckles but then I sobered up!! :classic: Have you given any thought to your color scheme? Chris
  23. Hey Ed, I'm confused about "mirror image". Can you explain. I took the photo of my arm in a mirror so that's why its backwards but you all knew that anyway. My wife surprised me two years ago for my birthday and said "lets go get you a tattoo." You'll have to show pictures when you get yours done. Chris
