  1. Just a point - I'm not selling this item. I just have the same magazine and am recommending it to you guys.
  2. Hi guys, heads up for a Sports Car World magazine from January 1973. I've got a copy of this and the article comparing the 240Z with the TR6 is a great read. The mag also has some other interesting articles too... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32081&item=2482475341&rd=1
  3. Was just playing around mate - no harm done
  4. Sounds like an interesting edition. I'll see if I can pick up a copy! Thanks for the notification guys.
  5. I take offence at that analogy! :tapemouth
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32063&item=2482401297&rd=1 May be of interest to someone. Located in Victoria.
  7. My first was the 240Z, and to be honest I think I'm lucky I didn't prang it at all. Especially in that period with bald tyres.... But however, a Z for a first car isn't that big a deal really. Guys roll around in cars MUCH more expensive than these cars for their first car. No one drives a better car, though. Well, almost no one. :classic: :classic: :classic: (im self-dillusional btw)
  8. I went to one of those training courses last year (a gift from a family friend). It was good fun, and it's a real blast to be able to drive cars on the absolute limit without worries about cops/other cars... I'd recommend it. Especially if they don't know anything about cars. edit: and i haven't crashed ... YET :tapemouth
  9. ROFL Are the handles *exactly* the same? Or will they just fit right?
  10. In the glovebox is definitely the best place to put it, I think.
  11. The RX7 weighs just over a tonne. That's not much lighter than a Z if at all......

    Ooh ooh I know- It's a Supra 5 Speed.
  13. mwuahaha :tapemouth

    OK, I got a 153. I don't think it's working right!! :stupid: .
  15. Oops, forgot the picture. BTW, welcome to the club!!!
  16. I don't know too much about engine conversions, but if I were to do one I'd be looking at the RB25DET or SR20DET - depending on what characteristics you want from the engine... As for fender flares, I'd guess the C110 flares could fit if you modified them a bit... the C210 never came in GT-R form so you won't get any "GT-R flares". But I've seen a few pictures of C210's (in 2 and 4 door form) with flares, so I suspect that in Japan you can source flares that fit (see attached picture). Might be expensive by the time they arrive at your door, though...

  18. Thanks for the webpage - Have a look in my gallery for some more pictures of the C110 wagon from a brochure, if youre interested!
  19. Thankyou for clarification!! Michael, the wagon!! I forgot about that... where'd you get all that info?
  20. That sounds like a great idea (the website, and the additional forum). I have a few magazine articles, when you get the website up I could scan those for you. There are a few IT guys here (kyteler and myself at least) so if you guys do need any help (sounds like youre an IT guy yourself though) maybe we can offer our help. Originally, I owned a 240Z and that's how I found this forum - great place - theres NOTHING these blokes don't know about S30 cars!! Then, in a stroke of fate I acquired my C110 and sold the 240Z. I sticked to this forum, not just because the guys here know so much about the L-engines, but also because I've made a few friends too. Somehow, more and more C110 guys find this place, and now we have our own little sub-community. Thanks to Mike (Admin) we even recently got our own forum too! If a new forum is founded on skylinesdownunder.com I'd visit, I'll give you that much There just aren't too many Pre-R31 Skyline fans who use the Internet much...
  21. Hi Kent, What good news!! Sounds like you bought 'nixcars' car. He is a member here. It is a very solid car, and any work he had done on it would be great I'm sure. Congratulations The website would be great, make sure to ask us if you need any help with that. If it was Nick's car, though, I don't think it's a GTX... He bought it locally from the original owners IIRC... The 2000GTX came with the L20 engine - 2 litre six. Not the 2.4 litre six (L24) that the 240K's came with down under. The GTX was the luxury-spec model though, with electric windows (!!!), air con and a few other cool little electric devices. Domestic model only. Which is why I'd be surprised (and a bit jealous) if you actually did get one! The C110 model variants in Japan were: - Nissan Skyline GL (SWB Model - 2 Door Hardtop and 4 Door Sedan - 1600cc and 1800cc 4-cyl engines) - Nissan Skyline 2000GT (LWB Model - 2 & 4 Door - 2000cc straight-6) - Nissan Skyline GTX (LWB Model - 2 & 4 Door - 2000cc straight-6) - Nissan Skyline GTX-E (Same as GTX, except had even more features - VERY rare) - Nissan Skyline GT-R (The most collectable. 2 Door Hardtop LWB only, 2000cc straight-6 S20 engine) And I've heard that some models could be had with the 2.4 six we got in Australia, but I'm not sure if this is correct. Can anyone confirm? And in Australia we got: - Datsun 240K GL (LWB - 2 & 4 Door - 2400cc straight-6) - Datsun 240K GT (Not too sure about this one though! Apparently just had a tape deck and a/c - much sportier!!) If anyone can add to this list, or correct me, please do!! This information isn't gospel, it's just what I've gathered from various places around the net. Here is a picture of the SWB model Skyline, note the much shorter bonnet. Can't imagine the 1.6 litre 4-pot would move it very fast!
  22. I wish I couldn't tell the difference... that'd make buying a "Z" a lot cheaper!!

  24. I don't even know what a "regulator" is, but are you sure you didn't pick the window and regulator from a 2+2?
  25. Cruisey, alright. I wanted to know for next time, if my little Jean would be up for it. She's not the quickest..... I think your car is definitely trying to tell you something!! She probably knows the up here she wont have as many friends as in Melbourne But come on, she'll love the weather!!
