  1. A pot runs a few dollars (plus shipping since Radio Shack is no more). Low wattage BA9 bulbs were pretty cheap at the link I posted. You would need no more than a 100 Ohm rating on the pot, and then you have to modify the wiring to incorporate it.
  2. @Captain Obvious, do you mean like this? So it seems like the thermistor isn't spec'd correctly from the experiments run by @dmorales-bello. As @Dave WM said, a lower wattage bulb would be higher resistance in the line. In theory you could use a potentiometer to adjust the resistance, but it would be cheaper just to try a lower wattage bulb to see if that's a viable workaround.
  3. If you want to experiment further, here is a site with different wattage bulbs: https://www.bulbtown.com/9mm_Diameter_Bayonet_Base_s/1421.htm
  4. Wattage is proportional to current. It is also proportional to voltage.
  5. I was wondering about the bulb wattage, too, based upon one of the links I posted. So @dmorales-bello, are you game to try a different bulb?
  6. See, now you made me go look. The FSM doesn't have much in the FE section, and the BE section refers to the FE section. I asked my frenemy Google about this and found a couple of interesting threads in other forums. https://www.element14.com/community/thread/56806/l/which-thermister?displayFullThread=true https://advrider.com/f/threads/honda-thermistor-fuel-light-to-led.954021/ As was mentioned earlier, the wattage of the bulb and characteristics of the thermistor come in to play. (Thanks for the re-hash, Steve. Do you have anything to add to the conversation?) I tried a search to see if one could buy a fuel light thermistor. Sure enough, there are some listings on ebay for some Chinesium thermistors. I'm not sure I would want to experiment with incorporating one into an existing fuel sending unit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Automotive-Fuel-Level-Sensor-Fuel-Pump-Alarm-Sensor-NTC-Thermistor-/283606453547?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10
  7. Thanks for the update. I love the easy solutions.
  8. It's the turn signal switch. https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2012/12/04/turn-signal-repair/
  9. 1. Join ZONC if you're not already a member. 2. Circulate around the club that you want to sell. Many of us encounter people who are interested in buying a Z. I'm sure the ZONC members experience that, too. 3. Consider Bring a Trailer...I'm not a big fan of that site, but there are some here who like it.
  10. As long as it wasn't a solo session...
  11. Yes, that was him. He got even more laughs in 2018 when he was explaining the unusual number of car seats breaking in America due to Americans having sex in the cars.
  12. By the way @zclocks, I showed Matsuo-san your website when I was helping him with preparation for his tech talk in 2018, and the subject came up about the rally clocks IIRC. He was pleasantly surprised with your work, and he asked me to make a print-out of your website for him.
  13. I had the privilege of helping him create the slide deck he used for his talk at ZCON 2018. He could certainly tell some good stories.
  14. That is very sad news. He really enjoyed coming to the US for ZCON. I was talking with Eiji Hosami prior to Matsuosan's tech talk at ZCON 2018. Eiji told me that over in Japan, Matsuosan is just another grandfather, but when he comes over here, he is a rock star.
  15. You'll need brackets like this for the front: https://zcardepot.com/products/front-bumper-conversion-bracket-set-ss-280z-to-240z For the rear: https://zcardepot.com/collections/exterior/products/rear-bumper-bracket-conversion-280z-to-240z?_pos=1&_sid=2131235fb&_ss=r You'll probably also need to drop the tank to remove the stock bumper mounts.
  16. I noticed the need for spacers on the front bumper: https://fiddlingwithzcars.wordpress.com/2014/01/20/installing-the-front-bumper/
  17. As Mike said, this past weekend was a scouting trip in Nashville for the ZCON organizers. ZCON is still happening, but it will be a little different from past years. The honored guests from Japan will not be in attendance, but Pete Brock & John Morton will be in attendance. Chris Karl from the ZCCA was making arrangements on Sunday for a car to put in the lobby of the hotel. (I happened to hear part of the phone call.) (Maybe) In case you're not on the ZCON mailing list, this was sent out last month: https://mailchi.mp/b1cdfc56ed8a/zcon-2020-covid-19-update?e=aca997d0bb Don't forget that Nissan will have a special presentation at ZCON. Guess what that is. Usually attending ZCON also locks you into employee pricing on a new Nissan until the end of the calendar year, too.
  18. So I took the Z out to visit Randy's shop. As always, it was a great experience. He added a few cars to his collect since I was last over there a few months ago. Given the lack of car club events this year, it provided me with a good Z fix. Dan Parkinson's car. The trailer it is sitting upon was designed by Pete Brock and used by Shelby American Racing and Brock Racing Enterprises. I forgot to put a link to the rest of the photos I took: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VopQLgMC91z3ie5f6
  19. And he's a good source of information, too. Post photos of what you do. It could help someone in the future.
  20. The biggest advantage of YouTube is that anyone who wants to watch does not have to worry about finding the right player to see your video.
  21. Contact Vintage Connections or Eastern Beaver. Both of those companies specialize in connectors for Japanese motorcycles, but a lot of those connectors were also used in Japanese cars.
  22. Upload it to YouTube and share a link. It should embed just fine. That is what I usually do.
  23. I wonder if the product sold by MSA is the same way. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic01c/40-2519
  24. My guess is that it wasn't on the tank they had available as a model. I looked at the FSM FE section and the photos they have of their tank. I'm not sure which line is not included.
