Ol' Yeller
Yes, 16" rims are the next purchase for the red Z. Then we'll put the draglites on the 240Z for non-concours shows. (I'm keeping the stock rims and hubcaps) Thanks Ben for the kind words. I know how you love stock Z's

All the Kings Horses and All the Kings Men
A police officer sent this photo to me. If you have a weak stomach, then don't look at this. It's a picture of a suicide jumper taken shortly after he landed. It shows him with his insides now on the outside. You can see the look of horror on the faces of the bystanders http://home.att.net/~songs2/Jumper.jpg Vicky

Embarrassing Question
Very Cool. Thanks. I was getting pen and paper ready to do manual figures but that link saved me from massive amounts of calculations. Vicky

Embarrassing Question
I'm trying to figure out the compression and or hp in the red Z. I know the cylinders measured 215 each. The crank is stock, but he changed the pistons, cam and did a 40 over bore. Smokemup.com has the calculation tables. I just need to know what the stock crank stroke is in a 1977 280Z then I guess. Anybody? Vicky

Embarrassing Question
Isn't a "stroker" motor when one takes the rods from a L24 and puts them into the L28? Shortens the stroke right? Vicky
-
Embarrassing Question
Please don't laugh but I must ask this question. OK here goes. When you modify the internals of an engine, does it change the bore and stroke? If it does, how would one go about finding out the new figures. Vicky

Gas for your Z?
I run Premium Unleaded in both Z's, the 72 240Z and the 77 280Z. They run fine. Octane is 93 to 95 here in my area. Vicky

Cool shot. You need to black out your wiper arms to match the rest of your blacked out chrome. Nice car

Would it be a crime...
It IS a crime to turn a classic Z car into a "ghetto blaster"LOL It's your Z so you can do whatever you like. TV screens, Disco balls, strobe lights, neon, ear drum destroying thumping bassROFL . In my opinion, put a nice mild system in the Z so you can truely enjoy the only real sound that matters............your engine! Good Luck with whatever route you choose:classic: Vicky

Os Giken TG24-B1 heads
Why can't someone come up with a supercharger for the L28. That's what I want Vicky

Footrest?
I've heard that this "dead pedal" is for balance when you take a hard curve. Many of our non Z owner friends get all excited when they talk about that pedal. "You do know what that pedal down there is for don't you". I've heard this a million times from them. Poor Chevelle owners slide all over their bench seats when they take a curve because they don't have that pedal Vicky P.S. My '94 4-Runner has the same pedal, haven't auto crossed that yet, might flip

fuel injection or carbs?
Can we also say that what you intend to do with your Z makes a difference too. I've always understood that for flat out, instant speed, like for drag racing you want carbs. For on and off throttle, like auto-cross, rallys and the such FI is better. Personal preference always prevails I guess. Vicky

Pic of my z, other car and house.
Never really cared for an orange Z, but man o man, your Z has changed my mind! Your Z is simply beautiful. Keep her out of that Canadian snow! Again kudos on your fantaZtic 240 Vicky

Murphy's Law and one shitty day
A little off topic, but anyway...The first car I ever bought via a bank loan was my 1978 280Z in 1983. It was listed in the NADA guide with a loan value of $4,750. Wish I would have saved a copy of that page. Ahhh, the good ole days. Bought it off a guy that was selling it to by a Corvette. His loss was my gain! Vicky

Tranny Leak
What are the possible locations that the tranny could be leaking from. Can it leak where the shifter goes into the gearbox? If so, do you have to drop the tranny to fix this or can you go in through the boot? Vicky

Nice Original 1972
Was that center console armrest offered in '72? I wish a member could go look at this car and report back. It looks like it's been stored in a time capsule. One of the best Z's I've seen in a long time. I'd think a high end auction would be the place to sell that car if it's all that it appears to be. Vicky

Was the 240z designed for America?
The S30 was designed for all who love a low cost, high perfomance sports car. I believe the Z changed the sports car industry in the US more than anywhere else though. European countries already had high end coupes. We could really only claim the Corvette in the 60's. The introduction of the Z car here in the 70's ruined the sales figures for Triumphs and Jaguars. The Z is one of the 10 most influential cars of all time. This is true no matter where you are in the world. Vicky
