Bench Testing Wiper Motor
What would be the cause of the wipers remaining up on the windshield when you turn them off? This is in a 77 280Z. Is it a simple fix? Vicky

Clean one on e-bay
Like injecting cancer into a body that already has cancer cells present. My father-in-laws' original 72 240Z had the little Zbart sticker on the window. If memory serves me right, it was a pictire of a Knights Helmet. Seventies were a blurr :stupid: Vicky

Clean one on e-bay
Did they put Zbart in the engine bay of cars? I thought Zbart was an undercoating. Also, wasn't it determined that Zbart added to the deterioration of metal. That's a very nice Z. Vicky

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
Hey Michael, 1) They ARE Nissan "Authorized" vehicles (Factory IS the wrong word) 2) I meant to say specifications but probably should't have put "much better" in front of that word, rather "NISSAN specifications" would have been better, my bad, sorry. 3) No apology necessary, I didn't feel insulted. I've been called a "rice burner" before....now that hurt Friends now Vicky

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
And to think that this thread was started by some gentleman who's so proud and excited to have purchased a "Vintage Z" I suppose we could all debate about the term "Vintage" as all of our Z's are technically a vintage vehicle, no? Running for cover now................... Vicky

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
Gosh, what was I thinking I'm not going to get into a "war of the words" over these cars. Thanks ChrisA for understanding what I meant. I have no scanner so that's out. This particular checklist was on a website and available for download awhile back. I will try and find it so others can see the process and detail. Vicky

Just bought a factory restored 72 240Z!
This is a great question that can only be answered by opinions I believe. Even though I own a NMC Vintage Z I would think that an "all orginal unrestored historically correct S30" would be of more value but not by much. This unrestored Z would have to be just as if it had been in a time capsule. Absolutely perfect. The value would be that it has been "preserved" and well maintained. The Vintage Z would be hard to beat as I believe, and this is just my opinion, that these cars have been "re-assembled" to much better specifications. I have a inch thick manual called the "240Z Restoration Program Quality Control Checklist" that is simply amazing. The detail is beyond belief on what each one of thes cars went through. This manual should be the standard for which all fine automobiles are restored. Vicky

300 Times more powerful spark...
You know alot!! It was in the "ricer" section of a performance catalog I just can't imagine that people would fall for such a line. But I quess if you'll bolt a park bench on your rear hatch you'll pay $160 for 4 plug wires for that 2 hp gain. Vicky
-
300 Times more powerful spark...
from an 8mm wire? That's what this brand called "Nology" claims. They're called "Hotwires". Claim to add 2% to 5% more hp, increased torque, improved acceleration and high rpm limits. Here's their tag line..."The secret lies in the Hotwires built-in capacitor, which accumulates spark energy until voltage reaches an ionization point. The capacitor then discharges the stored spark energy all at once for a faster, more powerful spark and an added performance boost!" Just another line like the Split Fire plugs or a valid product. Oh yeah, the price is a mere $159.95 for a set 4!!! :tapemouth $160 bucks for 2 to 5 more hp seems kinda lame. Vicky
