Wheel Changes - Your Opinion?
I like the Libres also. IMO the Libres look great, the 'other mags' look really good, the D caps bring it back to basics which is also great and the slots are fourth on the list. I never was really a fan of the 'slots'. I always thought of them as mini truck wheels but that's just me.

Nice low mileage '78 on Ebay
I don't know about that line. I hope that's not just clever 'eBay speak'. Remember, it got parked 23 years ago. There must be a reason

The speedometer has 160, we have took it to 155mph.
With the 81-83 5speed and the stock 3.545 differential at 65 mph you'd be doing 2350-2500 depending on tire size. Here's a chart you can plug in tire size, diff ratio, trans type, etc. Trans Calculator

Mine is basically the same story. 78 w/stock engine and differential, 83 5 speed. 128 in fourth (don't know the RPM..watching the road!) shifted to 5th and it didn't seem to want to go any faster. Scary ride. That was 10 years ago with no front or rear spoiler/air dam and 1857014 tires. I now have a front air dam, rear spoiler, 2256014 tires and it's lowered a couple of inches but I don't think I'll ever try for top speed again either.

Bryan Little's geocities site
Goose52, I don't think that's same site Gary's talking about. I can still access Bryan's 200B page but some of the pictures are gone.

New Knight Rider Series
Not wanting to be argumentative but 3483lbs/300hp=11.6lbs/hp and 3900lbs/540hp=7.2lbs/hp. But you are right about the cost.

Anyone from Jackson, Georgia?

For Valentine's Day, I bought myself an Infiniti
No minivans! That's what my wife wanted and we don't even have kids, at least, not small ones. We replaced the Q45 with the J30 for her daily driver but she still wanted a minivan. We ended up with a HHR. That's as far as I'll bend in that direction.

For Valentine's Day, I bought myself an Infiniti
My only experience with Infinit's is with the RWD cars. We owned a 1994 Q45 and a 1994 J30. Both were great cars IMO although the Q45 wasn't much for fuel economy(duh!). Only problem I ever had with the Q45 was the cd changer quit working and since the cost of replacing it with the factory unit was rather high, I never did. The cd player in the dash still worked. The only problem I ever had with the J30 was a leaky silicone filled suspension damper which cost about $35 and was easy to replace. If Infiniti's quality didn't improve between 1994 and 2001, and I'm sure it has, you've got a solid car.

Broken door hinge. What next?
No, well actually, I don't know if they're the same but I'll check that out. I mentioned ZX hinges because that's what zbane has.
-
Broken door hinge. What next?
Maybe the 240 hinges you'd find would be worn out since those are few and far between in the junkyards. When you do find them, they're well picked over but there's always plenty of ZXs in they yards I got to so there would be lots of hinges to choose from.

That car is like a boomerang. April 2007: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25701&highlight=357 June 2006: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22276&highlight=357 There are more but you get the idea but, at least it doesn't show up for sale as often as that damned red 280ZX 10th Anniv. edition.

Broken door hinge. What next?
Changing the entire hinge is so much eaiser.

Broken door hinge. What next?
I had the same problem on my 280Z back when I got it. I replaced the hinge. The hinge I bought even came off a car that was the same color. It seemed like the easiest way to solve the problem. Even if you pressed out the old pin and replaced it, it would be tough to get the spring back in place.

Anyone in Southern California want to...
Is your car presently and auto or 4 speed? I ask because 4 speed to 5 speed is a lot easier that auto to 5 speed. Have you given any thought to the speedo pinion? If it's presently an auto, need a 17t and if it's stick you'll need a 16t to keep your speedo accurate. Provided that you still have the stock differential in your 73.

New Knight Rider Series
So, by current, you mean most recent? That's at least 6 model years ago. Does look better than the concept which kind of looks like a Dodge Challenger to me.
