  1. I imagine he will have a harness installed so a seat belt pocket might be redundant.
  2. That is interesting. I have been using the degreaser/cleaner on the fibreglas as i go. I noticed some of the resin removal as well. I still create a lot of dust with the RO sander tho....
  3. For what it's worth, i would cut/grind away the excess metal on the top of the wheel well under the cage mounts, so they are flush with the mounts. Reweld them into a bevel grind so they are nice and pretty under the roll mount. THEN weld in new plates under the wheel well. That way you would keep your geometry and the disruption to the vinyl inside will be approx the same as with just the roll cage mount point.
  4. Nice! Looking good!
  5. Here's a question.... Are the door handle openers all in the same place year to year?
  6. I did not know that Taka! Thanks! PS: I'm dying to go for a ride in your car... PM me if you are interested in the Kelowna road trip this 18-21 May! Your car would be a hit! Lots of car club events this year too.
  7. No factory undercoating on Canadian models. It was applied by the dealers.
  8. Eastwood is great stuff, I wish they had a Canadian distributor. Exchange plus shipping absolutely kills the value here.
  9. I'm using a Pro-glass/Kevlar blend. It sets up quick, 2-3 minutes so I get the small batches on quick, smooth it out and let it harden for 10 minutes before sanding with a 120 grit RO electric sander. It is hard to get a nice flat surface with the RO, so I get it close and will finish the surface later with a smooth Pro filler, no glass.
  10. Crease work! Like Oilers goalie Cam Talbot! Some pics showing the build up I did on the tape line. I layer the tape in areas that are low. When the tape looks like the right shape or close, I fill to the tape. Then I tape over the new fill before sanding and fill to the tape line from below. This gives me a nice shape and curve to do final work to.
  11. Yes. The front will have black liners but some of the body colour will still be visible like the frame rail area etc. Black isn't a deal breaker for me, just curious what the popular opinion is.
  12. Back on topic... I agree the painted surface will clean easier than rock guard. Just not sure if it will chip too easily.
  13. I will put it in a warm box...
  14. I'm going to powder my pole....
  15. So I have been waffling on whether or not to paint the wheel wells body colour or paint them black or bed liner paint. The car will be rarely driven in anything but pristine weather but rock and road debris is always an issue. What do YOU prefer?
  16. Prepping the passenger side for the crease redefining... Did some work on the wheel well lip outside edge to help define it better too.
  17. Actually it is legal... I just end up paying the taxes at the border if it is assessed. USPS rarely stops to assess. No difference if you shipped used parts. All above board. The difference is that most small shops don't want to bother with the paperwork to ship across the border.
  18. feel like becoming an exporter?
  19. Look at the pictures of the different models, inside and out. One will speak to you more than others... I for one am not a fan of the "modern" dash in the S130's. The S30 series (whichever you choose) is similar enough that if you find a complete car, that is not requiring extensive parts, you can buy whichever you like. If you are buying a shell, keep in mind certain year production models are extremely difficult to find parts for! My 76 280Z is an early production, using parts from the single year 260 and 75 280Z's. Parts changed on certain components after Aug 1976 and that means I have to search very hard for certain unicorns....
  20. Fresh air vent on the roof in the picture comes in from the eaves, not the rafters and you can see the filter on the roof in the pic. Exhaust air pan under the car pulls out the back of the garage. Both units have an industrial puller motor/fan installed in line for a consistent low volume flow rate.
  21. I pay about $80 Cdn for a 250ml container. Where do you get it for $30 US???
  22. Wow, never thought of people doing that! If they are not attached to a build thread etc, then I see how that could be an issue. We DO offer a garage section for pictures though.... maybe that needs to be limited to a certain number of pictures to keep out Riff and his brother Raff
  23. And your car???? Do you still have it?
  24. I have been considering that. Pricey here in Canada....
