Let me clarify.... about $10,000 in parts and another $10,000 in exchange and shipping. By the time I ship everything I need from the states it will be almost double! And the motor will only be refreshed, not built as I am sticking to stock power for now. Waiting for a better ecu solution before I ramp up the power.

The line is still there, it's just muted with the primer. I will redefine it in the hi build.

So I am happy with the final rough work on this quarter panel. Curve is close and the line is accurate. Leave the rest to final blocking and sanding!

The reason for the fibreglas filler is that I wanted to ensure all weld points were sealed and waterproofed. After that, some welds were brutally done along with shoddy repairs to the quarter panel. I did not want to cut a new panel in so I am patching with fibreglas. The new products may be better than I remember, but I will do all the finish work with either a hi build spray filler or professional bondo. Sample PO repairs:

I am blessed with ignorance. If I really understood what I was in for at each stage I would have given up years ago...

I believe the early 280's sender (side mount) is NLA and was considerably more when it was available. Used ones can be found and resurrected!

Might I ask where you got the door cards? I see molded-in speakers... I am having a lot of trouble finding door cards.

Thanks Chas! This is the first time I have attempted any real bodywork. I am enjoying the learning experience and looking forward to the sanding and blocking phase. This rough work is more structural than aesthetic. I am hoping to have something close to 95% of the correct shape before I start the finish work.

Retaped the line and filled it again with fibreglas. Smoothed it out and now I am very happy with this starting point for the body line.

New adjusted line Thanks to 7tooZ I found my line was almost 1/4" out. I actually mounted the door panel and pulled the line along the door crease as well. Using his measurements I was able to confirm the proper line along the door and quarter panel.
