That is great Guus. I think you are really going to love those wheels. They will just look splended on your car. I think the grill will give your a car an older look to it. You will have to post some pics of your wheels. :classic: You, kytyler, alfadog, eric, and others that I didn't mention are sporting watanabe's. I want to join the club. Hehehehe. I think I have annoyed people so much because everyone knows that I am obsessed with those wheels. Anyways, I like how my car looks now, no complaints, but a good price on a set of 14 by 6.5j or 7j wats would be hard to pass. Take care and good luck with that grill. -Ben

I thought that this grill would fit on 70-72 240z with no problem, but 73 and later had different bumper brackets that would not make the grill fit without modification. Did you buy this for your car Guus? These are nice grills. Very JDM. -Ben
  3. Congradulation's Kytyler! That is awesome. The wheels may not have the offset that you desired, but if the other three wheels look as nice as that one, they will look great on your c110. They look like they still have the original Watanabe gunmetal finish on them. It is hard to come by nice original Wat's. That is an awesome find. I cann't wait to see them on your car. One of these days I hope to get a set for my baby:love: . Take care, Ben
  4. Yeah, definately invite peolple you know if they are not on the forum. I know no one, but I do know that there are a lot more bay area people here that aren't posting. Cheers, Ben
  5. I really like the first generation rx-7's. My parents bought one brand new in 1984. You should post some pics zr240. Nice find and good luck with it. -Ben
  6. Hey bambikiller, I live right off of the ohlone exit. Yeah when your car is done, we should definately have a get together. Z_boi and everyone, once more people are interested I think we should get a meet together. Don't think this is going to be some lame meet either. I am thinking of a nice drive when the weather is good, because like bambikiller said, winter sucks even if we dont really get one. Take care, Ben
  7. Thanks bambikiller for the info on the shows. I don't want to hang with ricers, just 1st gen zcar people. You are close bambikiller, I live off the mission exit off I-680. Anyways, I have to go. I just want to have a z gathering, as you can tell.:classic:. I know no one with a old Z and I am jealous because my friend is on a mazda forum and they have these get togethers every month. They sometimes even go to track events. I just think it would be cool to get to know a few Z people. Thanks for your input. -Ben
  8. After he did the O's with the car/boat he put in the second seat in memory of a young monster garage fan who had passed away and dedicated that build to him. It was a nice touch to the show. -Ben
  9. The MSA show? If that is the Z nationals you are talking I don't know if I would be able to go. I would love to and all, but school is quite hectic these days. Do you know the exact date when the show is blitzkraig? It wouild be awesome to caravan with a group of z's though. Anyways, any suggestions or comments on having a northern cali meet just to go on a day drive or meet up somewhere to talk z's would still be great. Blitzkraig, would you want to have a meet in say 2-3 weeks from now, preferably on a weekend? Hopefully Z_boi could be there and anyone else if this is possible. Take care, Ben

  12. That would be awesome Z_boi. Are they mostly old school Z guys that meet in union city? -Ben

I am almost sure that the 260z outside of cali had 162bhp.
  14. Blitzcraig, we can talk there, and hopefully we can get a group together. Talk soon, Ben
  15. Hello everyone, I know there is a lot of you Z enthusiasts in Northern California and I was thinking that it would be great if many (or a few) of us could try to meet somewhere and talk Z's or take a drive on the coast. I am up for any suggestions on where to meet, or where to take a drive, where would be the optimal place to meet since many of us are scattered around northern cali. I am located in the south bay, Fremont. It would be great if we could have a gathering, even if some people don't bring their Z's because they are working on them. Give it some thought northern cali guys and gals, and post your suggestions. Take care, Ben:classic:
  16. I would love to get together. I live in Fremont, but I go to school in stockton. I am usually free on the weekends. It would great if would could get a group of a few or many Z's together and just talk about our cars or even take a drive on the coast or something. I hope this works out, Ben
  17. Me too, 4 wheels is better than two.

Hmm, as far as power figures I thought the California export 260z had somwhere around 139bhp and where ever else it was exported, including the rest of the US it had 162bhp. Am I mistaken? When I first got my 260z in 1999 it had webers. Not side drafts, but two with cannon manifolds. I then put round tops on it and it has been great ever since. I really love my 260z, the bumpers are a little bigger than the 240, but they still look good. I have an early model. This is a question that I have been thinking about for a long time. Why does the 260 get such a bad rap?? The 73 240 and the early 260 are very similar, but the 73 240 does not get as bad of a rap. Personally, I would think that the 280 would have worse of a reputation than the 260 because it was heavier and farther away from what the 240z was than the 260, but that is not the case. Why is that? And I am not trying to bag the 280, I like it too. P.S. The webers are for sale, if anyone wants to make an offer or wants a photo I can supply that. Just drop me a pm. Cheers, Ben
  19. I think that Monster Garage is a great show, but I really love American Chopper. It is like monster garage, but more serious and the bikes that they build are spectacular. However, I watch both shows. Last night Southern chopper was on discovery and I was not impressed. Did anyone see American Hot Rod? I wonder how that show is. Cheers, Ben:classic:
  20. Kyteler and others outside the US, Here in the US, 2003 was the first year that we got the sti and evo so they are not as common as they are where you live. -Ben
  21. You cannot buy a used testerossa for 22,000USD. Try 50,000USD. The Ferrari that you are think of that you can buy for 22,000USD is a 308. You prolly couldn't buy a nice one at that. Why not buy an STI or an Evo??? IMO those are great new cars that are in category all of their own. Rally inspired, pocket rockets that hold 5 people that will blow the doors off almost anything on the strip or circuit. But then again, if I had to sit and choose exactly one car for 30 large I would have no clue what to buy. There are so many great cars, including the 350z, but I would be scared to buy one because of the buyers remorse I may have for not buying a different car. All in all, I agree that the 350z is not a new 1st gen Z like most everyone responding to this thread, but I do think it is a great car for not a bad price. Yeah the interior is a little shotty, but what cars nowadays have great interiors that are not luxury cars? Not many. However, my mom's VR6 jetta has a beautiful interior and it was 24,000! Okay, I am now off topic. The 350z is a great car, but not a 1st gen Z. IMO. For me, the only sportcar I need is my Z, so I will prolly not buy a 2 seater in the future unless it is another 1st gen Z(fairlady Z:love: ). You guys take care, Ben
  22. Hello everyone. I was not sure if I should post this here or in the western USA region, but here it goes. 23. That is just great to hear Victor because I was really rooting for you to find your car. p.s. In my opinion your car is one of the nicest Z's on the forum and elsewhere. Take care. -Ben :classic:
