  1. That seems too steep to me. How did it drive? What is the interior condition like? How is the rust going to be repaired? The body does not sound all that great, and 5000 dollars should get you a lot more. They might be asking that price only because it is a 1970 and they think they can get more for it. Maybe someone else can submit their words of wisdom, but from your description I would have to say pass, unless they want to go down in price. Ben
  2. This is a really funny site. I especially like the Arnold parities. Take a look and look at some of the other parities. They are quite funny. http://www.politicaltoons.com/flash/hasta_la_vista.cfm -BenROFL

  4. Thank you Lachlan for the link. That is one mean looking KGC10. I love the Longchamps and the Nardi steering wheel.

  9. You said it pretty well Chris. I am not sure of a ZG outside of Japan besides Alan's, but I am sure there are some. I too would like to know where these cars are. I don't even know how many ZG's were made. How many 240ZG's were produced? Anyone. However, somewhere around 420 Z432's were produced from what I read on a Japanese site, and one supposedly made its way to Australia. I wonder how true this is? I have always been curious if any of these cars are in the US. I am sure there has to be somewhere, but I have never seen them at a show or anything. Maybe they are locked away. hehehe. I hope I find one in a barn someday. Errr, that sounds more like a Chevy story. Okay, a barn in Japan. -Ben:stupid:
  10. Wow! You guys are going to have one hell of a trip!!! How many kilometers is the trip going to cover? How many Z's are going on this trip? Guus, I am so envious of you. Your car is going to be right at home. The rally Zcar in a very long European rally. I am sure you will stir up some emotion with fellow enthusiasts if they ever saw a works car in a rally of the period. Take as many pictures as you guys can. Maybe this will inspire the North American folks to have a sight seeing journey in their Z's someday. Grand Canyon anyone??? Hahaha. Enjoy your trip guys. -Ben (I want to go) At least I will get to see pictures:classic: .
  11. Just to clarify on what Lachlan said, the "P" stands for the S20 engine. Thus, KPGC10, KPGC110, and our favs, PS30 and PS30-SB. I followed the link that you posted Cuong, but it did not work. Anyways, I would love to see pics of that GC10 of yours Jeff. I am proud to say that I saw one of these cars up close and personal and it was breath taking. It was a GC10:classic:. -Ben http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4803&password=&sort=7&thecat=500
  12. I did not know James on a personal basis, but all the people on the forum here are my penpals and this is tragic what happened to James. I had run into him quite a few times because he had some of the same Z interests as I did and I hope he is in a better place. My thoughts will be with you and your family. Sincerely, Ben Yount
  13. Hey Victor, I thought my mags were 14 by 6", but I took one off and it read 14 by 5.5j on the reverse side. I thought it was a little skinny myself, but .5" wouldn't make a real difference. I like Pananasport and Watanabe wheels as well, but 16" is just wee big for my taste. However, I did see a beautiful 240 with 16" Panasports. http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6295&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 -Ben
  14. Hey Chris, we all have our own opinions about whether the Zcar was purely designed for export or not, but I honostly believe that the Zcar is a Japanese car with export in mind. Ben
  15. That is great to hear St. Stephen!! :classic: Gav240z, to answer your question, yes it should have the mesh grill. IMO I am sure the performance is comprimised on the 2/2, and I know of a lot of people don't like the look of the extended roof line, but I learned to love how these cars look from the photos in Brian Long's book, "Fairlady to 280Z." I think an awesome car to build would be a 2/2 ZG replica like the one at the 1973 (Or was it 1974?) Tokyo autoshow, like the one zedrally is building. Anyways, I would like to think of myself as a lover of all zeds, but yes I do prefer the 2 seater. Take care everyone, and don't listen to Gavin.:tapemouth Save this sole of a Zcar!!! Ben:classic: p.s. The upside to this car is that it is a ZL. Thus, it would have the 5-speed gear box, 2-tone deluxe seat covers, the rally clock, and a lot more features that I do not know. Someone enlighten me and the thread. I have only seen one Fairlady Z 2/2 in the flesh and it was in pretty bad shape. The photo is in my gallery.

If you want to have the wheels Victor has on his extremely clean Z, here they are. They are really nice with the dish look and the only 6-slotted wheels I have seen have been on Victor Laury's car and on the revell 240z model kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2478320366&category=43954 Ben:classic:
  17. Awe, this poor car. I hope this one finds a nice home and does not end up as just a parts car. It does look rough, but to have a Fairlady Z would be awesome. Someday I am planning to save one of these cars. Please, don't let this one go to the crusher!! What ever happened to the Fairlady Z 2 seater that was the first one on this thread? -Ben
  18. Bill, I wish your brother and your family the best. I hope he is on his way to a speedy recovery. Sincerely, Ben
  19. Thats a good idea Carl. I was aware of the show, but thanks for bringing to our attention. Maybe we should save the Blackhawk meet for that time, like Carl said. -Ben
  20. Okay, Marc and I have come up with a couple of places that are hopefully of interest for a Z meet. 1. Mt. Hamiliton: We could bring lunch, or go out to eat, have a beautiful drive, and possibly do a little hiking. This is located near San Jose. 2. San Francisco: The city is always beautiful. I know some nice car places we could hit up, go to the beach, and have a nice lunch(bring lunch or go out, possibly bbq). 3. Black Hawk Museum: This is a museum with beautiful cars. We could take a nice drive, go to the museum, and have a pleasant lunch. The entry into the museum is pretty reasonable if I remember correctly. It is located in Blackhawk(east bay). If any of these places seem moderately interesting to anyone, please say so. If they all seem like a drag, also say so. I hope that this make it easier. If there is a place that someone thinks is the absolute best place to have a meet, please post it. Take care, Ben
  21. Thanks Carl for the correction. I am slowly getting into the car part lingo. *Master vac Unit or brake booster.* Okay, I just added that to my vocab. Take care, Ben
  22. Hey Craig, I would think that this coming weekend would be too soon for a meet. How is your truck coming along? Hey everyone, How does a meet sound the following weekend? That would be the weekend of the 21st. Lets set a date! What is best for people, the 22nd of May or the 23rd? Post your comments and we can work this out. -Ben:classic:
  23. Well I found something that I thought was interesting. I was looking at my seatbelt tags to get a date on my car and the LH seat belt says 1973 and the RH seat belt says that it was manufactured in 1974. There was no month specified unless I am not looking in the right place. On my spare wheel the topy date is 4/74. On the door jam plate the build date is 5/74. Maybe some one can help me on this one. When were the door jam plates riveted on the car. Was it when the car was fully complete or in the begining of its production? Regards, Ben
  24. Hello Kats, I have been cleaning my engine bay piece by piece and I noticed that the master cylinder bell housing is made by Jidoshakiki. The actual master cylinder and the caps for the brake fluid are made by Tokico, Japan. This may be different for a 240 as I am looking at the parts on my 260. Here is a picture of the label on the bell housing of the master cylinder. -Ben:classic:
  25. From my understanding there would be S30-00026, HS30-00026, PS30-00026, and your majesty HLS30-00026. Would There be an HS30-00026 for each export car? IE; uk HS30-00026, AUS HS30-00026, home HS30-00026, etc.? I will come back to this thread later. I do know that the topy date on my spare is 4/74 and on door sill plate it states a production date of 5/74. I will look at the belts later. I love this thread already:classic: -Ben
