Nice 240Z For Sale
I saw this one on the site that Vicky referred to and I absolutely fell in love with this interior. http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/4/6/70833146.htm -Ben p.s. How rare is a red interior? I don't think I have ever seen one. I would assume finding parts for one would be ridiculous.

Nice 240Z For Sale
I remember seeing this car on ebay before. If this person wants to sell this car they could probably get the price asked for or more if they put different tires on, lighter colored hubcaps, the correct mirror, and the bonnet emblem. It is a very nice car with a few easy to fix discrepancies. I hope I am not being too persnickety. I think I am, oh well. :classic: Take care, Ben

6-slot mags
Hey Victor, I thought my mags were 14 by 6", but I took one off and it read 14 by 5.5j on the reverse side. I thought it was a little skinny myself, but .5" wouldn't make a real difference. I like Pananasport and Watanabe wheels as well, but 16" is just wee big for my taste. However, I did see a beautiful 240 with 16" Panasports. http://www.classicZcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6295&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 -Ben

round shape knobs and square shape knobs
Hey Chris, we all have our own opinions about whether the Zcar was purely designed for export or not, but I honostly believe that the Zcar is a Japanese car with export in mind. Ben

Damn shame....
That is great to hear St. Stephen!! :classic: Gav240z, to answer your question, yes it should have the mesh grill. IMO I am sure the performance is comprimised on the 2/2, and I know of a lot of people don't like the look of the extended roof line, but I learned to love how these cars look from the photos in Brian Long's book, "Fairlady to 280Z." I think an awesome car to build would be a 2/2 ZG replica like the one at the 1973 (Or was it 1974?) Tokyo autoshow, like the one zedrally is building. Anyways, I would like to think of myself as a lover of all zeds, but yes I do prefer the 2 seater. Take care everyone, and don't listen to Gavin.:tapemouth Save this sole of a Zcar!!! Ben:classic: p.s. The upside to this car is that it is a ZL. Thus, it would have the 5-speed gear box, 2-tone deluxe seat covers, the rally clock, and a lot more features that I do not know. Someone enlighten me and the thread. I have only seen one Fairlady Z 2/2 in the flesh and it was in pretty bad shape. The photo is in my gallery.

6-slot mags
If you want to have the wheels Victor has on his extremely clean Z, here they are. They are really nice with the dish look and the only 6-slotted wheels I have seen have been on Victor Laury's car and on the revell 240z model kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2478320366&category=43954 Ben:classic:

Works racing wheel wanted
Good luck... If you ever find a place to get them, let me know, as someday I too would be interested. -Ben p.s. If you know the right people and are willing to pay A LOT of money, it is not impossible to find. However, I don't think there is a set in existance on these shores (I could be wrong.). So you are going to have to look for a set in Japan. I would have no clue of how to go about this. p.p.s. The manufacturer of the works "rally mag" wheel is Kobe Seiko of Japan. They made all of the rally wheels for the early Zcars. I think there was a short run of replicas of these wheels made out of aluminum, also made by Kobe Seiko, but I am not positive. The originals came in 14 by 6j and 14 by7j. Please, if you find a set of these let me know. I will donate an organ or two for a set of these. :stupid:

Damn shame....
Awe, this poor car. I hope this one finds a nice home and does not end up as just a parts car. It does look rough, but to have a Fairlady Z would be awesome. Someday I am planning to save one of these cars. Please, don't let this one go to the crusher!! What ever happened to the Fairlady Z 2 seater that was the first one on this thread? -Ben

maybe bitter?
That was hilarious. I wonder if she really is getting rid of her ex's car, or is it just some story to catch the bidder's eyes. Oh well, that was very funny none the less.

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
Thats a good idea Carl. I was aware of the show, but thanks for bringing to our attention. Maybe we should save the Blackhawk meet for that time, like Carl said. -Ben

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
Okay, Marc and I have come up with a couple of places that are hopefully of interest for a Z meet. 1. Mt. Hamiliton: We could bring lunch, or go out to eat, have a beautiful drive, and possibly do a little hiking. This is located near San Jose. 2. San Francisco: The city is always beautiful. I know some nice car places we could hit up, go to the beach, and have a nice lunch(bring lunch or go out, possibly bbq). 3. Black Hawk Museum: This is a museum with beautiful cars. We could take a nice drive, go to the museum, and have a pleasant lunch. The entry into the museum is pretty reasonable if I remember correctly. It is located in Blackhawk(east bay). If any of these places seem moderately interesting to anyone, please say so. If they all seem like a drag, also say so. I hope that this make it easier. If there is a place that someone thinks is the absolute best place to have a meet, please post it. Take care, Ben

How many manufactures can you list up?
Thanks Carl for the correction. I am slowly getting into the car part lingo. *Master vac Unit or brake booster.* Okay, I just added that to my vocab. Take care, Ben

Northern Cali meet: yes another one!!
Hey Craig, I would think that this coming weekend would be too soon for a meet. How is your truck coming along? Hey everyone, How does a meet sound the following weekend? That would be the weekend of the 21st. Lets set a date! What is best for people, the 22nd of May or the 23rd? Post your comments and we can work this out. -Ben:classic:

Philosophical discusion on build dates
Well I found something that I thought was interesting. I was looking at my seatbelt tags to get a date on my car and the LH seat belt says 1973 and the RH seat belt says that it was manufactured in 1974. There was no month specified unless I am not looking in the right place. On my spare wheel the topy date is 4/74. On the door jam plate the build date is 5/74. Maybe some one can help me on this one. When were the door jam plates riveted on the car. Was it when the car was fully complete or in the begining of its production? Regards, Ben

How many manufactures can you list up?
Hello Kats, I have been cleaning my engine bay piece by piece and I noticed that the master cylinder bell housing is made by Jidoshakiki. The actual master cylinder and the caps for the brake fluid are made by Tokico, Japan. This may be different for a 240 as I am looking at the parts on my 260. Here is a picture of the label on the bell housing of the master cylinder. -Ben:classic:

Philosophical discusion on build dates
From my understanding there would be S30-00026, HS30-00026, PS30-00026, and your majesty HLS30-00026. Would There be an HS30-00026 for each export car? IE; uk HS30-00026, AUS HS30-00026, home HS30-00026, etc.? I will come back to this thread later. I do know that the topy date on my spare is 4/74 and on door sill plate it states a production date of 5/74. I will look at the belts later. I love this thread already:classic: -Ben

Porsche 997 officilal photo and specs
You can't forget the GT3. I hope that Porsche continues the GT3 because it is a serious naturally asperated lightweight racing machine. :devious: Ben

Porsche 997 officilal photo and specs
Sometimes change is too much of a bad thing. Subtle differences are nice. Hopefully all of the change is under the hood. Would it be the boot? jk... I am disappointed with their suv attempt. I see those peppers all over town. I guess it is better than the alternative suvs', but it is still disappointing. It may be fast, but it is not a sports car!!! It seems as if people accept these cayenne things more than non-911 cars. I hope I am wrong. I wonder how they are selling? -Ben

Porsche 997 officilal photo and specs
I like the circular headlamps that this 997 has. It really looks more like the 993. The 996 cars are very nice looking, especially the Carrera 4s', but this car looks like a good successor as far as style. Now all we need to see is the 997 GT2. p.s. Porsche is coming out with a Boxster coupe. That should be popular among the autocross audience. I really do like porsches, my dad used to have a 944. It was a great car, and nothing of the half wit Porsche that purists thought.

Buzzing noise comming from the battery
I will see what the voltage is. It makes the buzz when the car is turned off with no lights on. I didn't turn the lights on to check the sound changed. It didn't sound like boiling, just a very faint buzzing noise. I will keep you guys posted. Thanks for the input. -Ben

Thank you Carl. I will not make the mistake again. I just remember seeing pictures of him during the BRE years. Thank you for the picture Steve.

Monterey Historics --- Aug 13 - Aug 15
Hey, I have that Revell BRE 240z kit, and it is still unopened. Now I want to go to the Monterey Historics to get John Morton to sign it. That is John Morton right? I am ashamed, I do not know how he looks.
