I put a Dynamat type mat and 1/2" insulation underlay on the trans tunnel and it still fit very well.
  2. OK, lets see if this works, <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dR8bHf6C-Qc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Nope, lets try this,

@Diseazd I think you you are way over your catch limit, throw some of those back in. Very impressive, do you have a favorite?

We do have craigs but kijiji does it better and has the biggest market share so more selection.
  6. I'm seeing a big old spot light at the end of the tunnel, not at all sure what I did but I got the engine running today the idle wanders up to about 2000 rpm and starts getting kinda lean, but I'll let Matt figure all that out on Monday. I took a little video and the sound quality is not so good, seems to be picking up all the treble with no bass. I'm going to leave this right here and hopefully some nice young fella will make it inbed into the thread cause I don't know how to do it. Thanks MAH02795.MP4

Fantastic, I'm guessing he did it from photos you sent him?
  8. Well they make nice nic nacs for your table I'll bet most of them work perfectly except the clocks but the clocks are good for cores. The best way to test them is to install them in your dash with the wiring harness and test them under real conditions. I don't think there is much of a market for them, I have at least as many as you and some tachs and speedos, I take them to Z swap meets and bring them all home again and I'm only asking $10-15. I think the the clocks are selling for about $90 as cores.
  9. Matt was a no show yesterday, we set a time for next Monday but I'm starting to dig into the MS manual again, I'm sure the engine is just one key stroke away from starting.
  10. If those ring clips are missing, Nissan still carries them.
  11. and then if you get no satisfaction you can file a claim with paypal and they will freeze the transaction.
  12. Richard, I have one that I removed from the Z I'm working on right now, yours for the price of shipping. Send me your address in a PM and I'll get it in the mail to you. I'll do a little bench testing first to make sure working before I send it.
  13. Stop running that moonshine still and you'll won't have to worry. I'm okay with electrical work it's just all those damn microscopic wires, mini amps and micro volts. I loaded the anvil into the car to simulate all the stuff that still needs to be installed and got all the suspension bolts tightened up, the wheel alignment done, front sway bar in and the front air dam in, it still has that turned up nose look so I guess I will have to make up some kind of brace to give it a bit of a twist. It will need a brace anyway to keep high speed wind from bending it, not much strength to the urethane air dam. So the D/S front wheel arch and both rear wheel arches measure at 25 7/8" the P/S front, because of the lean on the engine measures 25 5/8" I'm hoping that the weight of the driver will equal the front out a little more. That is with Illumina shocks, Eibach lowing springs AND 3/4" urethane spacers on the top of the rear springs. Something definitely off about Eibach rear springs.
  14. I have heard of people that seem to carry their own electrical fields around with them that screw up electronics that they get near to, I don't know if I am one of those people but I do know I have zero luck with them. I got rid of the BMW Motronic ECU because I couldn't get spark or injector pulse to work. (by the way I sold that ECU to another guy with a M6 and he said it worked perfectly!) So I installed a Megasquirt system and after months of head banging got the engine running well, I carefully transferred everything in to the Z not changing a thing ... and you've probably guessed it, No spark, No injector pulse.I hate F---ing electronics. Megasquirt Matt says he's going to try to come over on Monday and have a look, I'm going to spend the weekend going over all my wiring again and again.

No sorry I don't have any other pics, the guy who brought it up didn't have the hood open and didn't seem to want to open it for me and if you can't take pics of a Scarabs engine bay then what's the point? So I moved on. Maybe there would be more pics of it on the Zcon site, everyone there had a camera.
  16. Very professional, must feel pretty good in your hands.

That engine is gorgeous, looking forward to seeing the rest of your work. Someone trailered a Scarab up to Zcon last year, I had never seen one up close before.
  18. That would make an awesome street racer, what rear end is in it now?

I'm not trolling anyone, Sato washed out of F1 because of his erratic driving and for continually crashing into other drivers. He was a mess, 1 podium in six years and probably hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of crashed cars. He in fact did NOT accomplish much in F1. I have not kept up on his career since he left F1 and was surprised to see his win at the 500, good for him, he's older, wiser and has learned some control while in the American Indy Series, I'll bet Sato himself would be the first to say he is a better driver now then he was in F1. Didn't mean slag anyone's hero.

Looks like the Americans have taught Sato how to drive cause he sure didn't accomplish much in F1
  21. That's a real commitment, so when you are done will the leather be sewed on, glued on or both?
  22. Remnant, can't help you with the thermostat problem but your engine bay is gorgeous, is that a permanently mounted vacuum gauge on the balance tube, love it.

I believe it's a 12mm nut that is holding the linkage onto the motor spindle, very tight to get your hand under there, it is also possible to remove the motor and linkage as one unit but try your best not to tear the rubber covers and seals, some are still available some are not.

My last Z had good rubber on the wipers so never paid much attention to them, this new car that I'm just about to put on the road doesn't even have old blades to go by, are there ready made blades that will fit these arms or do I have to go to a Z specific store? Oh, and how long should they be? Thanks, Chris
