Thank you Filipe:love: Last year I owned this Z432 but I had not enough time to drive her.Only once a month, 1 hour or so each time.I kept her at my parents home. But from now, she is in my house.I drive and drive , even in the rain.I have to take a lot of pictures of this car before she gets dirty and old. About a rally clock, in Japan many owners say it eats a lot of battery power,you will end up complete discharge in three days if you park the car with connecting the clock. I did not believe it, but I had just same thing yesterday.This morning I had to do start Z432 with external power from another car. kats

When I dropped at Mr.Moroe's shop, I happened to see PS30-00087. What a wonderful moment that my Z432 actually met her sister again since they came apart for delivery from the Nissan factory back in January 1970. Like 26th and 27th, Chris:love: They must have wonderful times. PS30-00087, she is now belonging to a new owner recently. She is very beautiful , still keeping original body paint with lots of original part.Amazingly, she has not been restored.Her S20 engine and suspensions have been modified, and she has got AFM air conditioning system. I was lucky I met her, she came to the shop to have totally restoration!! For someone may interested in, she has got reproduction Z432 aluminum wheels. It looks perfect, center cap is also reproduced.I do not know they are still available or not. If you see my Z432's original Magnesium wheel and cap in my website, you can see how the repros are close to mine. kats

Thank you tbone82:love: I love blue , looks great in 240Z.But for Z432, blue is not listed in the catalog. I do not think my 240Z's blue suit for my Z432... I drove my Z432 from Sendai city to Nara city approx. 600miles in one day.I drooped at a Z factory in Kanazawa city on my way, Mr.Moroe who restored this Z was waiting for me and Z432 to see and perform periodical maintenance. When my Z432 is inspected,I decided to replace original fuel tank , because it is not good for use, it is rusty inside,fuel pomp's filter gathered many rust. Mr.Moroe switched old one to NOS tank ,but the new one is for 1975 Z. I t is bigger than 1970 original,but I did not have any choice at that time. I hope the original tank is restored soon and gets back to my Z432 in place. Two pictures,the first one is an orange Z432 pictured in 1969 motor show(press day?) I love this picture , it is a good to know to find the originals. The second one is myZ432. Let's try to find out what is wrong and what is different.Be picky:geek: kats

Hello Arne, I see this tag is a very interesting find,I did search the part number in both US catalog and Japanese catalog.But I could not find.What that number is for? I see these words in the tag, " Hokubei-Shiyou" this means " North American model" below the HLS30-UV. About the red round stamp, " (Kabu) Sankyou-Kousan " on top, this is the manufacturer's name. There is a small red stamp next to the date 46,7,20 (20th July 1971) is craftsman's or inspector's name, " Tanaka " . In Japan, stamp is usually showing Last (Family ) name. At the bottom, "Kensa-zumi" means inspection has completed. Hope this help, kats

Some of you are pointing out about "Jaguar" as the car talking about here, "poor man's Jaguar " yes, I have heard it before in some Japanese magazine. What am I feeling about poor man's Porsche at this point?With regarding all of your inputs, I do not think many people were saying/considering 240Z as a poor man's Porsche (Jaguar). Hello, I would like to know about "Poor man's Porche" , yes I knew this word and I new Mr.K told this in some books by interview. 240Z is a Nice sports car but inexpensive, Porche was used as a comparison. But I want to know much more , not only from Japanese people saying,I want to know how people out side of Japan feel and use this word.What is a correct meaning for this word? I want to learn this from native speakers. My primary question is, When did people start saying this? In 1970? Did people say 240Z is a poor man's Porche(911)? Or much later, let's say in 1980,did people say 240Z WAS a poor man's Porche(911? ) Or, "poor man's Porche" this word was used for 924/ 917 etc originally?? Hello, I would like to tell " how much " in Japan right now. I have to say $30K+ condition 240Z in the U.S. is priced $60K in Japan.Now I have been watching 2 U.S. 240Zs(Vintage Z program car, red and gold both 70') they are on sale $60K in Japan but nobody wants to buy it for that price. In Japan, an U.S. 240Z is lowest price range.Japanese people want to pay over $60K for a Z432 if it is not so good condition . Z432R is over $100K, Fairlady 240ZG is like $50K. Japanese people's MAX money for really clean U.S. 240Z is $20-30K.A not so good U.S. 240Z is like $10K -15K. (These are all my own impression) How much does serious U.S. collector pay for a Z432R? My guess is,20 years later I will be 60 years old , I do not think there will be much remaining professional restorers(I mean really skilled mechanic who used to work at Nissan factory when he was young in 70') can take care of my Zs, nor there will be much remaining parts for Zs. In Japan people around 50 to 60 years old lead the pricing for vintage cars.What will happen 20 years later ? Only few enthusiasts will be remaining.The price range for Zs will be going down in 20 years. kats

Hello, I have got a nice Safari rally memorabilia badge in Japan.I really love this shape and color. I had been staying at hotel in Tokyo this month,and I found a wonderful thing... The hotel is located just 2 blocks west of NISMO - Omori factory.I looked around entrance and immediately I found a badge collection.There is a description plate tells, "Nanba Yoshiharu-the first president of NISMO- Car badge collection" Mr.Nanba is famous,he was a general manager of Nissan rally team late 60's to 70's.His telling stories are really fun and worth to read,I want to share with all of people but I do not see any publication,have you ever seen in English? Anyway,the collection has an exactly same badge which I have.Is this a kind of an official memorabilia? If someone knows this badge,please let me know. kats

Hello everyone, This winter in Japan,we have got snow quite often.Terrible salt spread on the road everywhere especially country road and some highway.I know but I drove my 240Z and Z432 a little:ermm: Thank you geezer and sblake01, actually My Z432 is not using original nut E4200, I now found Z432 is using the nut you posted, R4670.I did not know that. E4200 is just little bigger than the hole,it can not be in the hole. My friend who is also a Z432 owner,he trimmed the nuts at a professional factory and use them. Probably E4200 used to small as an original made back in 70's, as opposed to the nuts which we can get now is original Nissan made but it is not completely the same like used to. Today some pictures,please note the spare tire cover,it is different from other model.It is made two pieces for Z432 only.This is a reproduction has just completed for me. The material is exactly same as an original.The jute pad you can see is also same material but not dyed. And an oscillator,I replaced to a NOS one.It is bolted,the bolts are welded on the fire wall. kats

Hi 240znz, The grommet for the choke cable is not an original.I just could not come by an original so applied this like throttle boot. Please see the picture of service bulletin. And the duct,it should be go down due to an air cleaner duct running through upper hole. Thank you, kats

Hi Alan, I was surprised,Z432R is shown in yours.But in my catalog, it does not show the Z432R data. I did not know there is a catalog like Alan has.Which is the earliest between yours and mine? Maybe mine is a little earlier because yours has mentioned about automatic trans. I said "Z432R is not listed in the brochure" ,I know if I say like this,I am not right.Yes, it is listed.But always only very small description, a very few shots. No specific data is listed in the catalog/manuals. At that time this was in my mind " we can see the Z432R in the brochure,but we can not see the data of its car because the data is not listed" Even the service bulletin says "So Racing and Rally version PS30SB(Z432R) is a special car that this bulletin does not mention at all" We always frustrated we can see very little description like this, " Z432R for motor sport and racing,can be tuned highly" But yours listed Z432R's picture.Great Alan!! kats PS/ The original owner of this catalog might buy Fairlady Z(basic model) ,he circled the left red Z.You see the writing 97.6 is a retail price at Tokyo 976,000 JPY.

Hello, Will,let me check later,the car and switch located very far from me. 240znz,I think Z432's is different from any other model,but HS30 and S30 are the same.You can see the attached picture of throttle linkage,Z432 has different from other model. bpilati,do you have a stop watch like mine?With an Oscilater? Today I show the Z432 duct wich has just reproduced.The original is made of soft plastic but repro is molded by FRP. Probably no one out side of Japan will be interested in this,but if some one want to see.. And talking about a battery,it is smaller than the one you have(HLS30/HS30) . You see the battery cap with a different frame. kats

Hi everyone, Tony D and Carl correct,the fuse is "electrical fuel pump" the holder is OEM and looks nice does not it? Carl,the steering wheel is 35mm diameter.COMPE means COMPETITION,you right. Joseph,I will ask Mr.Nishi for any plan making reproduction of cloth-braided hoses.I too think some demand in the world making good profit for the shops. In Japan now really cold and not much driving and nothing new to post. Just enjoy before and after of Z432's dash restoration. kats

Hi, In Japan we love DATSUN COMPE steering wheel.You can see this in the safari / montecarlo rally cars.The real rally car's wheels are not exactly the same from the one which I have.Mine is a reproduction one from NISMO. This NISMO one,every one loves this and want to have in their cockpit.You can see many this wheels are selling in Yahoo Japan auction.In 1994 NISMO's 10 years old celebrating they released 500 units first,but too many people wanted , NISMO decided add 500 units more immediately. You all know the steering wheel has variation between export(LHD/RHD) and Japanese RHD.The attached picture,comparing these,the left is export and the right is Japanese.You can see the difference of depth of corn. This results difference of turn signal lever "angle".We can not apply Japanese wheel to export model otherwise your fingers are always stuck on the wheel. DATSUN COMPE (I do not know real rally car's) just same as Japanese wheel. If export RHD 240Z wants DATSUN COMPE, you can replace turn signal lever to a Japanese one. But for LHD 240Z,I do not think there is another lever produced from the factory.To prevent finger stucking,you need to BEND the turn signal lever away from the steering wheel. DATSUN COMPE,the black grip is not real leather.It is made of something like rubber(urethan). kats P.S. We in Japan cloth-braided bidding WAR has just ended.Mr.Nishi produced reproduction of hoses.Unfortunately, only for Z432 and Skyline. I will take off my Z432's real OEM radiator hoses to replace these reproduction,perfect!!

Like Tony D's Fairlady-Z (standard model),is the lightest Z for the ordinary customer.(racing model Z432-R is the lightest, but it is not listed in the brouchure) I heard some people made a choice buying -Z standard intentionaly,because the car is lighter than Z432(975 kilograms VS 1040 kilograms) and its 4 speed with final gear ratio 3.700 is very good for a start dash. L20 has got only 130hp, but it could go faster than S20's 160hp sometimes. And cheaper!!Just a half price of Z432:p But in 1975,situations were not the same as early 1970,I think. Thank you Tony D, I have read your story and appreciate that you share with us.Let me explain about OKINAWA prefecture a little bit who has no idea where it is.(maybe I don't need to..) Okinawa is in the Pacific ocean ,south west of Japan, a large group of islands. Always summer and beautiful oceans/beaches/coral. Returned in 1972 from the U.S. , so Nissan/Toyota etc. had sent their LHD models in Okinawa until traffic flow had changed to RHD.But not so many cars were sent their especially before 70's, Japanese car company did not have a lot of dealers in Okinawa.People did not have to buy Japanese cars,American cars were natural for them. Tony D,did you buy 1975 Fairlady- Z as new? I am very curious:classic: I saw some people got Japanese Z, some of them served in Japan main land like Yokosuka base,Misawa base,Iwakuni base.I can see they got RHD model because they were in main land,but how about in Okinawa? When S30 model was released to the public in 1969, Okinawa was only prefecture in Japan where was under the control of the U.S. My question is, was there any LHD 240Z sold in Okinawa?If it is true,how wonderful!Until 1972,was LHD 240Z really sold in Okinawa? Oh yes,I tried once some years ago. I flew to Okinawa and visited Okinawa NISSAN in Naha city. I met a manager and asked about possibility of selling LHD 240Z in Okinawa, but he said he did not know.Seemed anyone in the dealer could not find the facts because it is too old story. I want to show these two caps,the left is currently purchased from nissan and the right is purchased some years ago. The left is silver and thin metal.The right is plated and thicker metal than the left. According to the brouchure of U.S. 240Z,a radiator cap looks plated like gold,the right one might be the same? kats P.S.Here is a link of a epair example of the Z432's radiator,it is made of aluminum ,that is OEM.
