  1. 240Z tool box, I showed these pictures before, onece again I put them here. I lost one tool, that is a ST08900000 a tool for removing a flasher. I have been searching it in my house almost 5 years, but no-luck. I played my electric guiter and I wanted to try to imitate a Hawaiian guiter. I used the tool but it could not make a nice Hawaiian tone. Then I lost the tool, the yellow one in the picture. This time Chris (26th-Z) kindly offered sending it to me, I am so happy that I have the tool again. The new one came here is a silver , same part number on it, I could not be happier. I found out some differences , not only the color but also the alphabet. You can see a M on the right end of the yellow one, on the other hand there is a P on same location of the silver one. It is interesting ! Kats P.S. You can see two types of flaser, the right one is for Fairlady-Z, a small box. The next one is for US 240Z with a big box.
  2. Hi hr369, I am still learning about the ethenol in fuel in japan, I hope some one will describe properly for me. I have the book too, it is a great to look at. I want a book for 1970 Z432 racing also, still looking for it. Kats
  3. Hi Motezuma, thank you and of course I will let you know when I go to Sandiego! Kats
  4. Nissan shatai started assembling Fairlady_240Z/240ZG from Oct 1971 ,all Fairlady-240Z/240ZG came with unleaded engine, valve seats were newly applied for unleaded gasoline. The factory service bulletin explains about it. I am curious how people in the other country did for gas for their 240Z? When did people have to use unleaded for their 240Z? Did owner have to use leaded gas continuously for their 240Z? I want to know about it . Kats
  5. Hi hr369, From the memo I think this car have the clock and oscillater replaced . Both are early type because the owner complained about it just after he bought the car. And when Fairlady 240Z and ZG made a debut , only regular gasoline engine was available . Z432 and Fairlady Z and ZL were available both high octane and regular gasoline. Kats
  6. When you are going to buy a 240ZG , the most important thing is this , a regjstration certificate . The bottom left , you see 02662 0070 , they are , Katashiki shitei 02662 (HS30) / Ruibetsu kubun 0070 (ZG with 5speed, 0100 is ZG with A/T). Without these numbers , no car can be proved as a genuine 240ZG . Believe or not, there are (were) so many ZG-look car in Japan. Most of them are easy to be noticed as a ZG-look . A few of them are difficult to be judged by even experienced enthusiasts without seeing the certificate . The most easiest way is use a Fairlady-240Z-L as a donor, then put 240ZG parts on it. If the conversion job was done so perfectly , this would be the most difficult car to be exposed (the owner will proud to show or want to hide the certificate ,either) . We , Japanese people always think these numbers on a certificate is the most important for a 240ZG . If you are serious about a real ZG , you do not want to buy a ZG-look without knowing . You would rather pay for rough genuine 240ZG than very good ZG-look . As usual, Nissan do not show the actual production number of ZG, we guess less than 2000 cars would left from the factory . Kats
  7. Thanks Alan ,I found this in the catalog. Kats
  8. I found ZG has a splash pan too, no-hole , early type. And the oscillator, it sits up side down! But the rally clock keeps ridiculously correct time. From the original owner's memo, the owner comprained about bad keeping time soon after he bought this car ,and the dealership replaced it with a new one. Kats PS : You see "H-H " written with a choke , I see this is a sign of 240ZG , HS30-H .
  9. For me, Fairlady-240ZG is the first Z which I have ever seen in my life and instantly I fell in love with it. And funny thing the first car which I saw was not a real car, it was a TAMIYA 1/12 model. TAMIYA led me into the car world when I was a kid. No matter how a toy shop located in a small town, TAMIYA was available. And on top of the shelf , there were 240ZG and Safari 240Z , also Porsche 911 . Kids could not reach their hands so most of them ended up just dreaming about. So I can say it is all because of TAMIYA , not Nissan ! I think most of kids had a same story like me at that time in Japan (I was 6 years old in 1975). I had a no idea about Z432 , 240ZG was a whole thing for me. If TAMIYA made a Z432, it would be a different. On the other hand , adults know the Z432 by reading car magazines and people who lived near the big city would visit Nissan show room and , many young people went to Fuji Speed Way to see the racing Z432-R. I am feeling strange there is a big TAMIYA in front of me . Kats
  10. This car is not a restored car, repair job on the fender, door, here and there. Faded surface on GNose & over fenders, tail light panels too. But overall this car is a very good condition, remaining most original parts. So far I only replaced a shift boot , and a horn pad (I put a Z432 red Z emblem version , I do not have a blue Z version (without a trumpet, for all the other Fairlady-Z model until summer 1973) . Head lights are modified using relay to achive high intensity and reliable circuit wiring. I do not know I return to original or not because they are so good and bright at night. And of course, this car is missing some original hoses , now they are later rubber looking ones which indicates this car had been took care of continuously, and I too take care of this car from now. Note the vertical defroster line , it changed to horizontally after summer of 1973 for Fairlady-Zs. And the flasher, US model used different design already , but not in Japan. Fuse box cover, the right blank is correct for Fairlady-Z model. If a car had equipped with a fog light, there would be a fog light switch .Nissan parts catalog has a number for this switch. However no one has ever seen the switch specifically for the cover. Like I am always feeling , the genuine fog lights are so rare, I have never seen other car has equipped the same one with my car. Some early car have a early fog switch only, but the switch for post Oct 1971 model is mysterious. Has anyone seen the one ? Kats

Oh and one thing, Fairlady -Z parts catalog does not describe audio system at all (at least 1969, 1970, 1974 issued) I can not believe it, how did sales men / maintenance mechanics control the audio system parts for their customers? Amazing . Kats

Hi , I am outside now, let me see what I have. ZA has a red operating light , probably ZB has a green light I guess from reading the owner's manual. My 4 cars have 4 different audio system, it is fun to look at each other. Talk you soon. Kats
  17. Tools and books This 240ZG came with all the tools and books , I can see the paper has a stamp dated " 47 . 6 . 15" means 15th Jun 1972. And the screw driver is a reversible type, and a wood grip! I will show inside of the books , invoices, and a highlight is an owners memo which was recoded for his questions / complains / wants etc. Kats
  18. Hi hr369, Please let me know when you come to Japan. My Z432 and Orange 240Z has been displayed in a old car museum in Osaka, I hope I can bring my Z432 for a ride. Kats
  19. Hi everyone, I want to put some new things but I can not spent much time in front of my laptop. I will talk about a Fairlady 240ZG. Bits and pieces, differences from other S30s. Kats
  20. Hi Chris! Last summer I found there are 2 types of 8 track, the one you have is the later type which has "DX" button and different style knob for an aerial mast. And a new feature is an automatic scanning AM radio. Pictures which I uploaded are the early type, no DX button and square knob for the aerial mast. No-Auto tuning AM radio. Kats PS I will PM you later.
  21. Hi , This car is this , http://sato1511.blog40.fc2.com/blog-category-19.html The S20 is modified 2.5 litter and restored body panels in Kyoto. The guy at the shop said "if you get large capacity , you get power but you lose the sound, S20 sound" Factory blue Z432 is very very rare , I believe only 2 exist now , And could only be 2 left from the factory. Kats
  22. Thanks Fred , watching the video. PZ 69, I think 4 or 5 cars in the US , 3 of them used to belong our club member. About the white PS30-00023 , the seller recently added a note "not sell overseas buyer" And raised its price 170,000 USD .... I do not think there is a buyer even in Japan. Or someone in overseas would pay money to Japanese buyer then ship it to his garage. Kats
  23. About the RM Z432, It is easy to get it back to more original condition, it is about a ignition system. To enjoy the S20 engine, good ignition system must be installed. The car has an upgrade system, it is good but if the car has an original system, it will be more attractive. Stock parts are hard to come buy, and even if they are new, sometimes they are inoperative. However if you have perfect and new functional parts, they can make the car perform like it is meant to be. Here are my spare ignition system, they are specifically used for S20 engine. I want to drive my Z432 as long as possible, so these are must item for me. 1, Mitsubishi alternator and starter 2, Mitsubishi transister ignitor 3, Mitsubishi distributer (early type) 4, Mitsubishi voltage regulator 5, S20 ignitor coil 6, Two registers 7, Spark plug wires and a wire for the coil ( this one is longer than the GTR's ) And a rebuild fuse box, you can see the Japanese text on the cover, this cover is original old blue plastic. 24. Hi Montezuma , That is what I am worried about too, I do not want people to think that RM car is MY car . Already I saw one website is mixing up pictures RM car and my car, I think ordinary people (not people like here) can not tell the difference between these two cars. My Z432 is PS30-00088, the RM car is PS30-00092, yes very close. http://www.carsaddiction.com/articles/2015/02/collectable-japanese-market-only-nissan-400r-and-z432-on-auction?preview=fairladyz-17 And there is a very similar You Tube about Z432's 8 track stereo to my You Tube, I uploaded last Nov, the seller of the RM car did it last month. Did he take the video with similarity to my video intentionally ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp3rXgBE7pU Kats PS: Jay made this beautiful and wonderful You Tube for my Z432, he put a lot of efforts for it. Please do not mistake this video for the RM Z432. I know people here understand it correctly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyA8qLPwGwM
  25. Thank you everyone ! Rather showing , than testing... I too have question why they did not begin the test well before production. We will have a lunch with Mr.Uemura & Mr. Osawa in April, I will ask your questions. Blue, thank you for the reference about the muffler ! Kats
