  1. I forgot to put this , my 1972( 12/71 made ) Datsun 240Z . I think a 6kg switch cooperated with a 6kg / 90lb scale work pretty good, it makes me feel happy . Kats
  2. Hi Dan , your data helps everyone a lot , I was also wondering too about the low readings of the oil pressure. My first Z is a 1972 240Z when I was living in Bakers Field CA which always showing middle in the gauge. Then I bought a 1970 240Z , it always stayed very low in the gauge. I remember I was reading Mr. Wick Humble ‘s book and learned my 1970 car was not wrong . Here are pictures which were taken recently, my 1970 Z432 ( shared with all the other S30 DOM & EXPORT using the same 10kg switch , 10kg scale ) and 1970 Datsun 240Z , And 1972 Fairlady 240ZG ( 6kg switch with 6kg scale ) . Just for your reference. By the way , 25070-89910 ( 10kg ) switch is now approximately 200-400 USD if it is a new , S20 owners are seriously want it . Looking at my Z432 , S20 might able to be said it’s oil pressure relatively higher than L -series engine , what do you think of it. Kats
  3. Thanks advise Alan , I need to be nice . I am learning everyday ! YMO is my hero (Mr.K too of cource ! ) , tell me about your joint work with them sometime . Kats
  4. Thanks Chris , I will visit Pierre Hotel again next month on my day-off at NYC . Nice cranes , looks like made of metal , we normally make crane from a sheet of paper . And if you whish paticuler thing strongly for your familly or friend etc, make 1000 cranes and tied them all together , and give it to those people . Alan, yes now I see the picture which is on Nissan 10th anniversary book was edited around the floor ! Now I have a question , why the long hair lady was edited to be a short hair lady ? Like Chris mentioned Japanese men didn't forget their tradition ? Kats Thanks Alan , it is crane , TSURU in Japanese . I edited.
  5. Thank you so much Alan ! I didn't know there was a edited version. My mother used to be a Kimono craftsman , and also she used to help others to wear Kimono . Definitely short hair is STD we think (however I don't know about 1000 years ago ) . I can imagine that , if foreigners wear Kimono , it could be both (short and long ) . When I saw the long hair lady in the picture , I felt pretty much "it is a overseas style " . So, this 240Z with Kimono ladies was on the display at Beverly Hilton ? Or Pierre Hotel ? In the 80's , we still saw her hair up as a STD . A cover from Yellow Magic Orchestra (US version) . Kats
  6. By the way , this book tells us unique but reliable source about how many Fairlady 240Z series ( 240Z / 240ZL / 240ZG ) car’s were registered in Japan . Maybe total 2600 only , that is a very few I think . And 240ZG would be more than half of it , or even 80 % ?? At that time over 2000 cc car got painful tax on it . An Interesting thing that I have heard is even though 240ZG was the most expensive one in the Fairlady 240Z series , people who was able to own those price range chose 240ZG . This tells us how well G-nose effect did for people and for car. Kats
  7. Hi , were those Kimono (traditional Japanese dress ) ladies the same of the color picture which I posted last time ? Color picture was showing at Beverly Hilton LA , this mono picture shows different floor, different color of the 240Z , but looks same Kimono ladies , the one in short hair style and the other in long hair style. The two ladies were the same but the place was different ? Kats
  8. Thanks Alan , I am glad that you have the same experience of me , this bamboo grove is near my house. Before this shot , the path was so narrow and dirt , I was feeling like I was doing rally ! Kats
  9. Thanks siteunseen , that is a smart idea ! Simple and reliable. Looks like I need to bend the metal contact lip of the float upward little bit when I use that valve . Kats
  10. Thanks Blue , I was so nervous because if the rust in the gas tank caused this problem , I was going to have a big trouble. By the way , I managed to return home with only three cylinders of operation, that was so wonderful. And a cold water poured method is cool ! Summer in Japan is now as hot as Las Vegas , NV . And as steamy as Philippine . Kats
  11. Hi , I had a fuel trouble yesterday. Almost everyday outside is 38 degrees Celsius (100 in F ) in Japan . I took my blue 240Z for a ride , pulled hard in an open countryside road then took a coffee brake at a shop . After some rest I started the engine, I noticed the engine became sluggish . I had to give blip to keep the car moving. I replaced the fuel pump to new one but it was not the reason . I opened the float chamber, rear carburetor chamber was empty ! I checked the valve , the string wire retainer touched the valve so that the valve couldn’t move freely. The valve was pushed and hold , this was the reason fuel didn’t go though into the chamber . I guess under the extremely hot outside temperature like this , heat made the string wire retainer shrink to be enough touching the valve . I am always curious about people in the hot area , how did those people do with their 240Z back in 70’s ? No problem as long as the car was cruising , but after some shopping , I imagine it might be difficult sometimes to start the engine . Chances of Vapor lock or percolation might be getting increased when the car parked under the strong sun shine . Kats

Thanks pictures, now we see your car has a jack which was made on O (1969), K ( November) , A ( 1st ) . It is corresponding your car , some cars have earlier date than the cars were made . Nice !! Kats
  13. I will do if Blue promises he doesn’t forget where he picks up those pictures ? It must be cheap to digitized . I love both , and I need both to enjoy my life . Z was first I fell in love. But now I can’t figure which comes first. Kats

Hi , What a wonderful car which has been beautifully kept as it was left from the factory. I see lots of 1969 and early 1970 uniqueness . I can’t say all but some of them are , #1 The heater box has got “ 9K “ sticker as well as the chocks #2 The fire wall pad is textured “ meshed type “ #3 The clutch pedal stopper rubber is small #4 The hook for the jack holder on the floor has unique style , I have never seen it before. #5 The inspection lid has small tab , riveted? #6 To my eyes , the front over rider looked wide early type which has rubber nipples to secure the metal body . The front bumpers must be an early single bolt type for each side . I would like to see alphabet codes on the jack , it has three alphabet characters on the basement, does it say “ O K # “ ? Kats
  15. Hi Blue , the mono color 240Z picture was given from Mr. Yoshida when I met him and interviewed him . The picture is a big , like 200mm x 300mm . And the other pictures are printed from a set of slide film maintenance of Datsun 240Z which I bought a long time ago . In this case , is this a set of slide film belonged to Nissan , or an individual who owns it ? Anyway I have more 6 reels of film which are still in the wrapping . If someone want to see it and I maybe open them and print by a photo shop . Kats
  16. Nice label ! I have never seen before “ Ikeda Bussan “ label . Please let me interpret over your picture. Kats
  17. Here is the detail , this figure is for the Fairlady series but also it is applicable for the cars which use same part numbers on the coil springs . I can’t find this type of figure in the books of export models , do you see it in some where? Kats
  18. Hi, for those people who want to stick with original , about the distinguished paint of the coil springs . I have to turn the rear coil springs 180 degrees upside down for the correct installation. Or I had to paint the yellow upward . Kats
  19. Where did you find this picture ! Kats
  20. Hi , I had the same thing in my 03/1970 240Z a long time ago . Have you checked back of the fuse box ? In my case , the two bold white wires were sticked each other in the back of the fuse box . I replaced the white wires to the new ones and then having no trouble since then . Kats
  21. Hi , I hadn’t realized my blue 240Z’s air pump got the vent wrongly since I have got the car in 2000 . The vent must be facing like this .My orange 240Z told me which way it should be . And I confirmed it by service manual . Kats
  22. Hi motorman7 , I found my ZG has the same paint marking on the bottom of the block , but it is on the right side end . Kats
  23. Thanks Mike ! I didn’t know that other cars have the paper sticker too ! Here is my ZG ‘s seat bottom , I see a paper sticker too . When I was a kid , I always saw these stickers on the food , and many other stuff in a supermarket. Dan , sorry about this is not about the paint markings ? Kats

Hi Gavin and hr369 , thank you so much , you guys are great ! Now I have learned red or green light doesn’t always corresponding with ZA or ZB , right ? And the label is so nice ! Kats
  25. Hi , I love this thread. Here is what I see the ones in my Fairlady 240ZG . Are those yellow markings the same in the ones in other cars ? Kats
