My winter project: L28 swap into my 240z
On the header install, sometimes they barely touch against the bellhousing or transmission. Slight grind on the bellhousing is all. You'll see what I'm talking about.

That's what I've used on my 280s N42, felpro. I think my mistake was using antiseize between the head and gasket, it's got a slight "tick" other than the valvetrain. So to be honest, I haven't used that style Nissan yet. But everything ive read has been positive.

Buy one of these at your Nissan dealership.metal against the header. And yes you can install the header outside the car.

I would think so, that's all new to me though, I've always had the PCV working.- My winter project: L28 swap into my 240z
Seems like the small hose connects to that block under the coil? Or is connected to the air filter? Too lazy to walk downstairs right now, I'll know tomorrow.- Crapped my pants

I was putting all the steering stuff back together last night. When I got out from under the car the steering coupler thing with the rubber and the metal sleeves had slid all the way out of the fire wall. I've got it "eye-balled" straight for now but learned something, tie that sucker up next time.- F*** the Internet
I'll miss Gone's "likes". They made me feel better about what I'd done.- My winter project: L28 swap into my 240z
I had thought about trying that, crossmember and insulator already on the tranny, but I decided it would be something extra in the way. Maybe I'll try it though? Worked for you!- 71 starter solenoid wire ?
Or a long screwdriver. Cranked a few that way. Scares the bejesus out of me though.- My winter project: L28 swap into my 240z
I'm thinking you put the insulator on the tranny first, get the tranny tucked up in the tunnel then the transmission crossmember mount bolts up.- '72 fs in Vegas

Me too! That engine bay is going to ruin my Monday, I'm going to try and wax what I can to maybe get close to your's. When you replace the motor mounts you should go ahead and change out the transmission insulator, Nissan #11320-E4100. Ordered mine Friday from my local Nissan dealership, $65. Should be there Tuesday. Do you have a plan for your fuel pump? I enjoy the internet with Google Chrome. Until my mortgage company insisted I upgrade to google to make online payments safer, I'd only used IE. I'd rather watch the Oprah Network and all the commercials on television than go back to IE. I didn't get a smartphone until my bank started mobile deposits last year. Another plus is now I don't have to touch those germ covered magazines in waiting rooms. But this forum is the only socializing I do as far as the internet goes, don't really socialize at all. You have to dumb yourself down to conversate with 95% of the people.- F*** the Internet
Back to the good old days when a phone call is all we need. Glad I have your number!!!!!!- Head surface markers?
Here's an early e31, n47 and a p79. They all have it. You may have something there?! EDIT: early E88, not E31- Is this how they got their name?

Is this okay? Let me know if it's not what you want Sweaty Betty, I love that username. It leaves a lot to the imagination.- opposite of removal
I've got that exact chain hoist! But I'm scared to use it on my '50s garage floor joist. Plus you need to roll the car forward, I'm limited vertically and depth wise. I have to use an engine hoist with the arm out as far as is safe. I'm thinking if I could bollt the drive shaft to the differential last I'd be okay? I'm being overly cautious I believe.- opposite of removal
Thank you Mark. You ever been to Alabama? Want to visit in couple of weeks? I have a motorcycle jack that works as a transmission jack as well. So I'm thinking the driveshaft should be the last to bolt to the diff? Then tighten everything else up. Thanks for advice!!- need a couple of pics
I'll get those for you. I'm away from home at the present though, give me awhile and they'll be here. Maybe an hour or so?- opposite of removal
I've got a leveler and what a difference they make! I'm remembering what a difficult time I had with the drive shaft the last time. I'm waiting until it's all bolted up before filling the gear box. Anymore tips would be appreciated. - My winter project: L28 swap into my 240z
