Glad to have you in the fold! Great looking car and looking forward to more.
  2. Thanks Captain, I wasn't 100% on that. Another thing I'm not sure about but it seems like I've read where someone replaced the O-ring on a '77 sending unit through the the inspection cover in the hatch? Would/could the unit be replaced without dropping the tank? Thanks and have a good Thanksgiving. I see where it's cold up there, more than usual. Cliff
  3. Same old same old, hanging on here out and enjoying the comradery of the members. Thanks, good to hear from you.
  4. I'm pretty sure you can short the two wires together and the gauge will go to FULL as a way to test the gauge it's self? Maybe more knowledgeable people will verify. It's been a lot of years since I did my '77 tank refurb.
  5. Jeff good to "see" you! I've been thinking about you since Sunday after watching a cool documentary about the Rouge F series plant in Dearborn. Sorry to change the subject guys but it was a great show.
  6. Yes! It's I 85 and U 85 or I'm driving up your muffler. Mark and Kathy had gone from an airplane to my Camry with an Alabama tag. We're talking and trying to navigate to Braselton. It was a hoot.
  7. One of the pics was the car parked in the garage. They asked if the garage doors were operational and would lock. The only thing I didn't like is they require the same 50/100 on my little d-21 pick up. I had the minimum on it prior but it's still cheaper all around and I have better insurance on the pick up. Nice folks located right out of Atlanta somewhere. Alpharetta maybe?
  8. Here's what I have. I don't know much about insurance, just pay and pay and pay. I think if you never have a claim they should return some money but that's not what THEY think. 1972 Datsun 240Z Bodily Injury Liability ($50,000 each person/$100,000 each accident) $35.00 Property Damage Liability ($50,000 each accident) $9.00 Collision (500 deductible) $38.00 Comprehensive w/Glass (500 w/ Glass) $53.00 Total Premium $135.00 Free Membership to 24/7 Roadside Assistance! Drive knowing that you have 24 hour roadside assistance just a phone call away.
  9. I have Infinity Classic Ins. Sent a bunch of pictures in and we agreed on 25 K for the value. I have the same driving rules as Hagerty does. It's $135 a year.
  10. Down here we call that "pooping in your Corn Flakes"
  11. That is an ugly SOB only rats would like!
  12. Hi Kats! Thanks for your die hard devotion to our cars/forum. I have always loved the smell of the Zs I've owned. I assumed it was the carpet or plastic panels but who knows, I just know if I was blind I could smell a Z. The sound of the hatch opening is very distinctive also if I was blind. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a polite manner. Cliff EDIT: Kats you have always been more than polite! I apologize if that sounded bad. You are one of favorites. Manners be damned. Cliff
  13. I agree. They look rich from possibly the choke cables aren't adjusted right. Have you changed the length of the cable wires? Maybe the hold down clamps have loosened resulting in the nozzles not pulling up completely. I had one with stiff fuel line instead of the pliable hoses that kept mine from completely closing. I may be way off as you describe this as a sudden problem. Cold weather?
  14. I try my best to stay out of these but absolutely DO NOT GO TO A HIGHER FUSE.

Yeah, I probably could dig up an old crusty one. I've deleted the Egr on my Z and have a zx motor that has one I'd think. They are burnt looking the best I remember.
  16. A timing light that shows rpms is very helpful. You want both carbs separately running the same rpms. Use the nozzle knobs to get them close. Front may be at 2.5 turns down while the rear could be 3 or 2 turns? Get them both idling the same rpms. google "quick and dirty su carb adjusting classiczcars.com". Thanks to @240260280 for the info.
  17. I don't believe in bad ideas just bad solutions.
  18. Thank You Wayne! I'm glad to hear from you more often on the forum. We need helpful people on here like you. I know you've been here way longer than me but seems like Zcon and sharing some time with Bruce has made you crazy enough to reply to guys like me.
  19. That is a great improvement! Congratulations Sir. The best thing I have ever done, setting the floats properly. Such a better response when I hit the gas even while geared too high it responds way better.
  20. That's pretty funny they put the Japanese badges "Fairlady" on an LS motor which is American. Should have been "Datsun". Coca Cola vs New Coke. Those damn Americans are nuts.
  21. It was mom's Kirby vacuum cleaner for me. But she was smart enough to to challenge me. Lady never had tangled up necklaces.
  22. Great article Lumens! Thanks for that. I was curious when I saw one picture but then at the end of the article there was a link to another, "Is this the perfect evolution of the 240 experience? Probably!" And that is where I found the answer.
  23. As long as you wipe up before Oh wait a minute I'll be on the s h I t list.
  24. 95's a good long time for entertaining nerds like me. Stan Lee brought Mary Jane to me before Playboys. Mary Jane was hot at bedtime.
  25. I apologize for jumping in mid conversation but a way to test the fpr for pressure is clamp the return line and see how it runs. I may be waay off base here but that's what I did.
