Inside the banjo bolts right at the float bowl
  2. That's because it looks like a Hot Wheels car. All 7 yr olds like hot Wheels cars!
  3. emailed them response: "Yes still available lots of interest " I seriously considered this but really don't have time for what I already have...

I have always wanted an early car but I am afraid I may have waited too long... I saw the dented hood but I didn't see the awful rust
  5. I have a 56 in my shop that my Dad bought new in Germany in 56. I might could use some help with parts when I finally get to restoring her...
  6. Alright an update for posterity. I tried to sand out some small bits with 1000 grit but that didn't work. Paper fouled badly. Then went to 400 grit and it still fouled as well as ball up and stick to the surface, making more defects. I don't catalyze my basecoat so that is part of the problem. Took a lot of wax and grease remover to get it straightened out. Then shot more BC then cleared the 2 fenders and the hood. My 2 cents...
  7. That's good progress, and VW beetle parts all over the garage...
  8. Not the Z but I shot some BC/CC on Cody's 510 yesterday and today
  9. I was wondering if you could compress the spring and insert a screw driver from the side port to hold the spring down while the circlip is placed in the bore?
  10. Thanks anyway...

  13. @sweatybetty I have a quick question for you. We are painting similar color Datsuns and I have a little trash in the base coat. Did you sand any of that out before you cleared? Did you respray based or just clear over the light sanding? Since the color I am shooting is not metallic, I would think a little light sanding at 1000 grit wouldn't hurt, but I hate to experiment with expensive paint
  14. No worries Cliff I have a diesel F250 and it wouldn't charge. Auto parts store checked and alternator showed bad. Changed it still no charge. Changed it again still shows bad alternator. 3 bad ones in a row seems really unlikely. Took it to a local auto electric shop. Turns out there was a bad connection to the bottom of the battery post from the alternator. Had arced enough to prevent charging. Wasn't visible from the top
  15. That is not always definitive. They failed several alternators in a row on my truck. Turned out to be a bad terminal connection...
  16. One on ebay complete intake and turbo. Not real cheap though http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Manifolds-Datsun-240z-260z-280z-Nissan-Fairlady-Z-L6-EGR-Intake-Exhaust-/332194262573?hash=item4d58522e2d:g:EOQAAOSwVm5Y~pQO&vxp=mtr Keep your eyes open on ebay or craigslist or post a WTB on classic z car or hybridZ you will come up with something. The after market manifolds I have seen are really expensive like $800 and above and can be prone to cracking. Factory manifold is the path of least resistance Maybe its not such a bad price, these two sold for almost as much as they want for the whole intake and exhaust setup... http://www.ebay.com/itm/81-83-DATSUN-280ZX-NISSAN-TURBO-TURBOCHARGER-L-28-L-28-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-OEM-PART-/222456037529?hash=item33cb69c099:g:uHUAAOSwuLZY2-6L&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-280ZX-Turbo-manifold-240z-260z-280z-/332146164870?hash=item4d55744486:g:hRYAAOSw4A5YvOF4&vxp=mtr
  17. Finding a clip might be a challenge...
  18. Why do you want an aftermarket? The stock exhaust seems to flow well enough to make really good horsepower...
  19. Very true, but we love having visitors...
  20. Also check any of the rubber boots at the intake for leaks. Major vacuum leaks and the low fuel pressure will make the idle very weak...
  21. My biggest problem with most of these policies is they want the vehicle garaged and I really don't have a spot to keep a car inside...
  22. Intake or exhaust?
  23. $602 !!! Wow, that's stout!

Wow! Ok we have a project! Gonna need some parts. Might want to learn to use Google Chrome and shop Yahoo auctions in Japan to source some of the right hand drive parts
  25. 16,250, That's a good price. They used red on the suspension bolts instead of yellow... Still that seems like a good price. Has hand throttle too...
