Alright an update for posterity. I tried to sand out some small bits with 1000 grit but that didn't work. Paper fouled badly. Then went to 400 grit and it still fouled as well as ball up and stick to the surface, making more defects. I don't catalyze my basecoat so that is part of the problem. Took a lot of wax and grease remover to get it straightened out. Then shot more BC then cleared the 2 fenders and the hood. My 2 cents...

That's good progress, and VW beetle parts all over the garage...

I was wondering if you could compress the spring and insert a screw driver from the side port to hold the spring down while the circlip is placed in the bore?

@sweatybetty I have a quick question for you. We are painting similar color Datsuns and I have a little trash in the base coat. Did you sand any of that out before you cleared? Did you respray based or just clear over the light sanding? Since the color I am shooting is not metallic, I would think a little light sanding at 1000 grit wouldn't hurt, but I hate to experiment with expensive paint

No worries Cliff I have a diesel F250 and it wouldn't charge. Auto parts store checked and alternator showed bad. Changed it still no charge. Changed it again still shows bad alternator. 3 bad ones in a row seems really unlikely. Took it to a local auto electric shop. Turns out there was a bad connection to the bottom of the battery post from the alternator. Had arced enough to prevent charging. Wasn't visible from the top

That is not always definitive. They failed several alternators in a row on my truck. Turned out to be a bad terminal connection...

The after market manifolds I have seen are really expensive like $800 and above and can be prone to cracking. Why do you want an aftermarket? The stock exhaust seems to flow well enough to make really good horsepower...

Very true, but we love having visitors...

Also check any of the rubber boots at the intake for leaks. Major vacuum leaks and the low fuel pressure will make the idle very weak...

My biggest problem with most of these policies is they want the vehicle garaged and I really don't have a spot to keep a car inside...

16,250, That's a good price. They used red on the suspension bolts instead of yellow... Still that seems like a good price. Has hand throttle too...
