  1. Excellent results!!! What do you think you have invested in the completed cabinet and beads?

I don't know, does page 5 apply to sss type carbs? The floats in Cody's carbs are loose from the tab mechanism. We are trying to get his car running again...

@240260280 Blue, I know you posted the float bowl needle dimensions for these carbs somewhere recently but I can't find it...
  4. Good info, much easier to fabricate too. @kats That is excellent info and the pictures are outstanding!
  5. I would suspect the idle hanging up
  6. I wondered if a seal issue is the reason too. If it is, you could add less oil so the bottom of the strut couldn't bond itself to the tube but the oil level would never get near the top strut seals
  7. You need to find a good body shop that will work on older cars. Many only want to do late model collision work. Hopefully one that works on import cars too, if you can find one. Once you find that, get an estimate. You will be money ahead to pull the drive train for them. Also there are factory dimensions for the cars in pdf format that might be helpful
  8. Gotta hate that on the cluster! Yellow bird. I remember when the car was new. What a beast! Good color... Whoever did the valve cover has good metal skills!
  9. Or he could mail me the modified one and I could plate it for him...
  10. Ohhh! That's bad...
  11. Right near Rancho Cucamonga, maybe it's something in the water...sarc
  12. I have 3 different tanks here but it would be nice to salvage this tank too. I may not use it in this build but I would still like to try to get it reasonably shaped. I am sure I could cut the tank and split it but am not sure I am a good enough welder to seam it up again I have a number of studs welded to it right now and the slide hammer wont even budge it. That makes me wonder if air pressure would even do it. I guess if the pressure is high enough. The small holes wouldn't be an issue to cap but the large ones might be if I needed fairly high pressures...?
  13. I can think of a lot more cars I would rather have for that kind of money...
  14. Even on an efi tank? There are a lot more structures internally; it's pretty stout
  15. @kats Do you have a source for these if she can PayPal the funds? Thanks, Charles
  16. @duffymahoney http://vaporhoningtechnologies.com/wet-blasting-abrasives/ Might want to look at this page. The "anti microbial" agent and "anti packing" agent might be good adds. Also his price on beads isn't bad either... "Anti corrosion" would be good too if you are gonna do any steel items
  17. Yup, not such a big deal if you know you can put it back That's all good progress
  18. I would be interested in the washers that mount on the top and bottom of the mustache bar
  19. Yes they are different. The upper washer has a larger hole because the chassis stud has a larger diameter as you get closer to the car floor. Also the lower washer with the smaller hole has a recess sort of like the tension rod washers to accept a washer and nut I assume.
  20. Yes, absolutely!! Get me the chemistry if it come up. My wife is a chemist and can translate for me. I know there are two main types of zinc plating baths. I don't know which one is the Caswell system. I would love to know what our plating bath is. The brightener we use and the chromates. The brightener being the highest priority as it is a consumable and fairly expensive. Plating tank solution next and Chromates last. If I could find a testing lab near me that wouldn't tear me a new one I would figure it out on my own. A professor in this field could be a huge "Ringer"
  21. Crenelated as in the style on the studs or the style on the string?
