  1. I'll say a little prayer for Monday!
  2. True! Lot's of possibilities at that level...
  3. The problem with grinding them down to me, would be, you remove all the zinc from the end of the bolt and they're going to rust badly there so close to the ground and potential water. I am not sure grinding them would affect clamping forces at all, but I am also not an ME...
  4. Congrats to you!!! I feel for your dad. Good luck...
  5. I looked at some other MR2's for sale and it must be the body kit throwing me off. They can be had for decent money, interesting...
  6. And the OEM bolt head is thicker. Would be interesting to mic from the bottom of the bolt head to the end of the threads on each one for reference
  7. I liked the wheels too. I wondered if they were available separately. Too bad... I am not a fan of shaved drip rails, but I thought the center exhaust was really well executed. I wonder if that makes the potential for fumes better or worse?
  8. Nice looking car. I don't think we got that model here. I have seen the older version, a couple of cars down but don't recall that newer version. Unless I missed them somewhere...
  9. In the scenario in the diagram above, the cap at the radiator would be a cap with no disc or spring attached at the bottom. The overflow tank would then have a standard pressure radiator cap installed on it
  10. Normally the way a system like this would work, is the air would collect at the radiator neck and be burped to the bottle when the pressure rises in the radiator. It comes into the bottle from the bottom. When the radiator cools and causes a vacuum in the radiator, liquid is drawn back from the coolant reservoir. This keeps the cooling system purged of air
  11. Pretty cars and I love the Jenvey EFI look with coil on plug The cars aren't cheap at $89,176 / $101,916 / $114,656, but it does take a lot of time and money to build a car like this. Obviously the $100k Z already exists as these guys are in business with at least 7 cars on the floor currently. Props to them for making a living doing something you love, irregardless of the money! Also you know when the customer calls, if they've been on the website they are already considering spending what your asking...
  12. That is a quick collection of cars! What is the first car in line, the dark blue one, next to the Noble?
  13. I believe to have the coolant flow both ways the bottle and the line will have to be able to hold pressure the same way the radiator cap does. Also the radiator cap will have to be able to allow the coolant to flow into the radiator versus the current set up where it simply allows over pressure discharge
  14. He evidently has one of those if I read the original list correctly
  15. @240260280 Not to thread jack but how did you make the sniffer? I understand the part I see, what about the ends in the exhaust?
  16. The spindle that fits into the hub is a fixed piece to the strut and basically sets the angle there. Like ZedHead is saying, it has to be in the hub, bearings or the wheel. Nothing else would affect that area of clearance
  17. That sounds like a lot of fun! Been a long time since I've been to Virginia. Both of my parents were from Virginia...
  18. I have that tool and that was my first thought. I assume you blanked off the master cylinder port? Did it take forever to draw the 15" of vacuum? You were moving the brake pedal clevis looking for leaks, correct?
  19. Which one feels more balanced? Ie feels the smoothest? Least amount of vibration?
  20. Pretty close to fully qualified! I lack the racist behavior that is evidently necessary per Wikipedia but I drive a 15 year old Ford, have 2 drooling great danes and am sometimes not polished enough, but I am comfortable in my own skin. Like ZedHead said "some rednecks do good work". There are not many things I can't make and I tend to have a perfectionist nature. It's all good though. I know myself ...
  21. I could resemble that remark. I am sure I know people that would classify me as such...?
  22. I thought I would post this up here instead of burying it in my build thread. Does any one have ideas on how to bench test a brake booster? I have an assortment of 5 or so small boosters. I would like to bench test them to see if any of them are good. Then restore the best candidate Thoughts?
  23. It is my understanding that on the 240z the front springs are indeed different
  24. I believe the 4mm total is the amount of distance that the tensioner has the ability to accommodate. I don't know that you could take all 4mm off the bottom of the head
  25. Both the intake pump by tanks inc and the Holley blanket are really cool. The Holley is really neat in that the whole thing doesn't need to be submerged. The Holley video was fascinating although it sounds like the GPM volume of the fuel pump can over come the surface tension of the fuel blanket if it's not sized properly. Not cheap but neat tech!
