L24 Rebuild -Again!
Chickenman I believe that is a cover plate for a 4x4 metal electrical box. They are pretty stiff. You could bend it if you tried but they aren't overly flimsy. Not as stiff a 1/8" plate though.

Shaking, back and forth motion at 1st and 2nd gear
If it's fixed leave it alone! Don't break what isn't broken...

Seat sliders
I don't believe so, but someone else will have to verify. I recall having to swap some at one point because of bolting issues

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
Are you gonna use the copper for the oil pickup or fab something out of aluminum? Are all the major oil pan issues solved?

Happy Canada Day
Yes, Yes. Never pick a fight with a moose. don't challenge a bull either. They will destroy your car.

Happy Canada Day
We have a good many deer here in the upstate but many more and bigger in the low country. It is surprising how much damage a deer can do to a car. Many times they run off after being hit. Hope you get it straight with out too many problems. No four legged cougars here. Some small bobcats and coyotes. The coyotes will kill your dog if they get a good chance. Congrats on the championship...

Did you ever solve this problem?

To Buy or not to Buy. That is the Question! Series 1 240Z
I would guess that is a collision repair not rust. Rust normally eats the frame rails near the sway bars or behind the strut towers first. These older cars many times don't have salvage titles even when they have been significantly damaged.

ZCON 2015 Hookup
Memphis was hot last week but it should be in the low 90's in July. So we can hope for normal or even cooler temps for that week. I work out in the heat almost every day and would prefer a little cooler weather for the time off.

Redwing's disconnected wires
Generally large leaks are in the condenser or the evaporator. The condenser sits in front of the radiator and looks like a small radiator. sometimes they take a stone hit that punches a hole. The evaporator is a much harder fix as a lot of the dash area has to be disassembled. A good AC mechanic can add dye and use an ultraviolet light to find the leaks.

Is this 76 280Z worth getting?
Is this a plug and play swap?

Redwing. Nice young woman needs our help.
Love the Dalmation names! I have Great Danes so I understand losing dogs. Happens a little too often for me.

Advice on what year my 280z is?
Did you get a title? If not how are you gonna get it back on the road? Also there is a VIN number right above the brake booster. You aught to be able to get pretty close to month of manufacture with that.

Is this 76 280Z worth getting?
Does it run? If it does, does it start and idle well? No pig rich smells at the exhaust? Check the usual rust areas, dog legs, under the battery, frame rails. The battery would probably be the biggest concern because of the climate. Look for butchered wiring or damaged rubber under the hood. Seems like a nice looking Z.
