  1. Cliff, Bruce, I was laughing out loud. Had to read all of that to Shelley. Makes me look forward to Toronto... C
  2. Nice car, congratulations on finding a buyer.
  3. Site's pictures are good. You aught to be able to hold the trigger for a second to a second and a half and get the pattern on the far right. I have a special cap that I can screw on the front of the gun that tests the pressure at the cap. You really don't need it. I run 25-30 psi, if I remember right, into the gun to get the atomization I like. I have never really had to over thin any paints I use. Most P sheets will state you can reduce an additional 10%. Do you have the P sheets for your products? I have a 3 ring binder in my shop with P sheets for all the products I use. If I need to, I make notes on those sheets for pressures or additional thinner desired. If you add more pressure the only issue it is likely to cause is using some additional material. I base all my pressures off of how it lays down. I adjust my fan to 10-12" wide for most work, adjust the flow until I get a decent pattern like the pictures and adjust my pressure so it atomizes well. I am using DeVilbiss finishline guns for most things...
  4. Siteunseen, Are you sure you fall in the "moderate" category??? I have seen your deck building...
  5. John, I am in Spartanburg. If you find you need something drop me a PM and I probably have it. Welcome aboard... Charles
  6. I searched on car-part.com, 2 within 30 miles of 33601 zip. And many more further out. If the local ones aren't good find someone who will ship. A used head is better than an unknown "rebuild" head from someone with questionable quality. Didn't find any on Craigslist within a 1000 miles of you...
  7. Somehow I think when the new owner is complaining about you, at that point you won't care...
  8. Yeah a nice build and I believe it was the 50mm that made the Mikunis rare. I would also like to see the final numbers. I would also be interested in the costs numbers to see how they compare to some of the other performance builders.
  9. the link through to the engine build is nice. Another great option for a high capacity engine. I would love to know rough pricing for the engine and tranny...
  10. A little small but could have made a nice rug...
  11. Thanks Bruce. Always nice to get a "Sparkys" input on such things.
  12. The easiest way I have found to do this is "right click" on the legacy subscription link and select "open in a new tab". When it loads put the cursor in the url line. Edit the legacy out with "www". Hit enter, it will reload in the new software and you can click "follow" and select frequency then enter. Only 277 more...
  13. Wow. Well I got in... 278 subscribed threads. This is gonna take a while...
  14. Fabulous!!!! Thanks for all you do, as well as the other moderators...
  15. Many times I will put bolts and nuts back on the part after it is removed so you have the correct size and length in the correct location. On some parts this is not possible but on many it is...
  16. Captain Obvious or SteveJ have thoughts on this?
  17. Make a piece of wood. It will work fine, Oak or maple something hard with few splinters. Like Site said be sure and get a place to tie the rope securely. Pull the head, it is a more reliable way to repair the head with less risk
  18. I have seen Steve's work and it is beautiful. He walked me through it one day when he was plating. I have notes somewhere...I believe Steve is right though to some degree everyone's setup will work a little different but you would think the overall method would be the same with just minor differences
  19. Where were you using the white vinegar? As muriatic or as a prep solution? When 240Nix showed me this he was yellow chromating for about 12-15 secs if I remember right...
  20. Do the Nissan heads not use a pressed in cam bearing? I have never looked that close...The one with the deep grooves are pretty deep. I wouldn't think sanding them out would be a good idea. If there is no bearing then replace the towers or have them line bored and add a bearing sleeve.
  21. Did you ever try the Eastwood forum or Kevin Tetz "Paintucation" forum. Either one can probably get you pointed in the right direction. Also Isocyanates can be dangerous. Good respirator and ventilation are important!
  22. That little stirring feeling I have deep inside may be machinists lathe envy...
  23. Absolutely, particulars would be great! How long did you yellow chromate? Did you use any blue chromate? What was your prep routine?
  24. I believe there are different plates available...You may need to check to see which one you need.
