  1. Congratulations Mark, I know where you can get some serious love for it in Sonoma County. Do a search for Original Customs. They are located a half mile or so off the Square in Sonoma in an industrial complex on 8th Street East. Mark, the owner has applied some serious love to mine and he can help you too. Here is a picture of mine at his shop right after he tuned the triple Weber carbs...
  2. My friend can't remember if this was Daytona or Sebring...
  3. A BSR car in the rain...
  4. This one belongs to Adam Carolla so I imagine Les did the restoration and knows about it...
  5. And with what? a 2.41 final drive gear and that V8 it should have a top speed of 290 MPH... 8O
  6. You'd be 'teaching' Leon. As you recall, Keith gets overwhelmed in groups larger than 6-12. But you would definitely be an asset!
  7. Wow! CARB has been around since '73? I know of only 2-3 cars that have them (DGV). They run pretty bad for those guys. Fuel comes out of suspension in the manifold from what I hear. I would get SU's but if he wants to try and rebuild, good luck.
  8. The 280Z first had an N42 head followed by the N47. The E88 was, I believe a later 240Z head? I have too many other facts and figures to remember in real life so I can't be too sure but this is my recollection.
  9. Will do, both Keith and the host location restoration shop Original Customs are onboard. I just need to pick a date and post it...
  10. A little GTP flame going on...
  11. I have no first-hand knowledge of either vendor but I did get my vinyl from Classic Datsun Motorsports. Les Cannaday is the owner and he is CDM on this site. Here is a picture of the finished product. He has the later stuff too...
  12. For those who don't care to understand the math and the physics, the amusing thing is these two actually pretty much completely agree with each other. 8)
  13. I have a set of these in 1/4"... No really. In my trophy cabinet I have an ancient Hotwheels Z on a flatbed and those wheels are what Hotwheels put on the car!
  14. Looks like 432Z with an S20...
  15. Mac Tilton... I had a conversation with him over an hour or so a couple decades back. Interesting guy.
  16. Carl, Does your hood still open this far?

My wife says she associates that flag with her great-grandfather being marched off and subsequently shot on the Bataan Death March... She says though, that the rest of the world needn't suffer because of her association. She just wouldn't buy a shirt. If you find something distasteful, avoid it. Don't subject the rest of the world to your own values. (Her words. Not mine)
  18. Gentlemen, for the record, there will be no last word... Let the mud fly!
  19. I hate burnouts. It means the rest of the suspension isn't doing what I want.
  20. Warning! Steve, you are arguing with an engineer. A famous Z guy once pointed out that arguing with an engineer is like mud-wrestling with a pig. After a while you're covered with mud and you realize the pig loves it! I told you Leon said there is no more power being made...:classic:

It's pretty cool actually. It took me a bit of looking until I realized I was looking at the 'sugar scoop headlight' bucket of a Z. I'm on board.
  22. How are your door cards? The backer board behind the vinyl. If it's good, you can buy new vinyl from Classic Datsun Motorsports. If no good, you can buy fiberglass backer from Strictly510, but after all that you're at $500 or so. I have one good side in red, passenger I think but it would need SEM dye spray and the chrome strip would still be toast.
