Motor is mostly done, a bunch of nuts and bolts to finish plating. Not quite to Diseazd's standards but I am happy with it.

How a simple valve adjust can ruin your whole day.
Jim: as we talked about yesterday here is a photo of the inside of the valve cover. I did not touch it with a rag or anything.

Back to the Future -- 1971 Datsun 240Z
It might be a weathershield brand, I had one on a car that I was going to restore but had a way to much rust once I took it apart. It turned into a parts car. Your car is very nice. here is a link to when I asked about mine. I wonder if the car that is talked about is yours? http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/interior-s30/28490-weathershields-sunroof.html

E-tek RACING '71 Parts Car Resto
E-tek: I had to buy one fender and ordered it from the local Nissan dealer. I think it was around $180 and I just picked it up at the parts counter with no shipping cost. Dan

Water pump
Yes it does look like it is OEM from that photo, the motor has a cast date stamp of June 26, 1970 and the build date of the car is Aug 1970

Water pump
Started cleaning up the engine and when I removed the fan pulley this water pump was under. Is this OEM? I have had a few engines apart and never seen one like this.

Well, very excited the car got picked up today. Now to clean out the garage, organize all the parts I have tucked away and wait for it to come back home.

You should come up here for this auction, this guy donated his whole car collection to a local collage to auction off as a fundraiser. I count three E's in the bunch. Have no idea what they will fetch or condition. J.C. (Jack) Anderson Auto Auction - VehiclesMar2013 - a set on Flickr

Correct Decals
Dan: Thanks for the link, when I did a search that thread did not show up. I think you are correct that it did not have any decals. I think I will go with that. Travel'n Man: Thanks, but no info in that thread to help me with my question. Closest is the post about the 69/70 hood sticker, but I do not have a air pump. Dan

Correct Decals
siteunseen: thanks, but I trying to find out what is correct for my car. Everyone is selling the same one and I do not have Adjustment Screw "C" on my carbs.

Correct Decals
I am starting to gather all the bits for re-assembly and have a question about the engine bay decals. The car is a 1970 shipped to Canada (S/N HLS30UN006513), so it is a non-emission set-up car. My question is "what are the correct decals for the air cleaner box and the under side of the hood"? Are the ones that are sold by various suppliers for a 1970 correct? Thanks Dan
