Z Songs
I'm working on my Z-songs CD, and I"m stuck on a song artist: "Lay With Me" I think it's Alice Cooper, or some other ROCK group, not Tanya Tucker, or Johnny Cash. Approx. year would help too. thx :rambo:

Smog "stuff" removal
I've taken a few things off already, like the EGR valve stuff & the dashpot. Anything with wires or a vacuum line going to the intake gets a closer look. Just remember NOT to unbolt the ground wire for the injectors!! (bolted to intake). :stupid:

Progressive & Geico Suck
So why don't they decipher the VIN enough to tell you to call them on the phone? There must be a way to decode VINs to the point where you can tell about how old the vehicle is. They make such a big deal on TV commercials about getting an online quote. I've even been watching for the fine print that tells you to call them if you have an older car.

Progressive & Geico Suck
I recently tried to get a rate quote online with both Progressive and Geico insurance companies, but neither would give a quote. Progressive doesn't insure cars made before 1981, and Geico requires a 17-digit VIN (same thing). So I'm staying with my current auto insurance provider.

Fixing stratches/Pits In windshield
You can't see anything from the outside. Only when you look from the inside with the sun low. Glare is also a problem with the sun low.

Fixing stratches/Pits In windshield
When the sun hits the windshield at a low angle, it looks like my car was driven through storms of rocks & sand, with all the tiny little pits & small scratches. Is there a way to repair the glass so it's nice & clear again? thxe

Steering wheel grooves are stripped smooth
The easiest thing you might do is to see if you can swap the center part of the steering wheel with a (new) one? Otherwise, I'd say you need to haver a machinist make you a(steel?) insert with splines on it and then cut it into the steering wheel. I have a removeable wheel using a Grant adapter, and you can bolt on a new hub if you ever need to. It would still be important to see why it wore away in the first place, so you don't have the same problem again.

Heater Water Valve??
I found a vacuum hose marked "W" on the end. Is that supposed to go to the water valve? If it does, where is the vacuum tap for the water valve supposed to be? Right now, I think my heater is stuck on v'vent' so I think another vacuum hose fell off the control valve thingy. thx

Recalls and Service Bulletins
You might get lucky and have -one- guy at the dealer who's been working on Zs since they came out- probably the older guy with the long hair & tye-dye T-shirt...

Where Would You Go in your Z?
Wouldn'tyou get tired of seeingthe same cars through the entire trip? I mean, it would be nice to drive with some cars for part way, then some other ones for another part. You might try a little 'competition."

Pacific coast Highway to Seattle across to Montana where my bro lives Through Chicago back to Ohio Correct me id my old map needs updating

Recalls and Service Bulletins
You'd think the factory/dealer mechanics would be up on service bulletions & recalls. FAA mechanics definitely are.

Can I Get A Pic Of A 280Z Fusebox Area?
Thanks Steven Mine is just so unsightly with the wiring hanging out, and the relays exposed, etc. I thought there might be a panel to put in there to cover up the mess.

Can I Get A Pic Of A 280Z Fusebox Area?
I was looking at the fusebox on my 280Z and it looks kind of messy down there, so I was wondering if there is supposed to be a panel of sorts to cover the area? Can Somebody post a pic of a neat/original fusebox area, so I know what it should look like? thx

fuel injection or carbs?
the F.I. system on my 280Z works great. The only (parts) that I think could be repaired or refurbished would be the AFM and the wiring ( 2 most used parts). It still needs some tuning/adjustment. seems to be a lack of power at all speeds- probably from a rich mix.

questions about gauges & knobs
How much is the air flap supposed to open, when you move the cable? Do you get much air through that vent? I remember the with older vans ( like Ford Econoline) you get a LOT of air coming through when you open the door to the footwell vent. thx
-
questions about gauges & knobs
It's not that easy. I pull mine (280Z) to open the vents, and I can't tell if there's any air coming out. I think I will try to fit a hose to the vent outlet. Maybe hook up the hose to the side vents then.
