A delayed shipment arriving months later reminds me of a recent experience with Motorsport Auto. Two holiday seasons ago, I ordered a bunch of interior panels to take advantage of their holiday free shipping promotion. They were mostly out of stock with unknown ETA, so I told them to substitute other items into the order to get the free shipping. This past spring (over a year since the original order), I got a call from MSA telling me they had received a shipment of interior panels and they asked if I still wanted the items from my original order. I was surprised that they held on to the canceled order details for over a year. I told them that a big part of the reason for the original order was to get the free shipping, and they offered to honor the free shipping from the original order so I completed the order.
  2. Meaning that the mount screws sit on top where they are less visible? Sounds better. I wonder if the mechanic who did mine was the same meathead who did the AC install. Neglected to review any provided directions 😞 Replaced the pass door handle over the weekend, and the belly pan today. I broke my phone last Friday, so no pics of the work
  3. Nissan's interior design folks seem to have been inspired by the 1965 Bizzarrini's use of diamond-stitched leather when they chose the faux-stitched vinyl for the Z's interior, so I suppose this stitched-leather replacement is kind of poetic justice and the 'puffy' look is historically accurate...
  4. Here's all I can say about how long they took. I checked my email in my Z folder and found that I ordered 0n 13 June 2017. I would guess that my thread on doing the seats was within days (16 July 2017) of receipt of the goods. Looks like it was about a month from order to go to work on the install. Could be longer in today's world, I know they're in India and didn't really seem to be "heavy" on the communication side. They did come through and I'm very happy with what I got.
  5. That road salt makes a good "dirty margarita" apparently. You all are a wee bit loony! Damned if I would take a picture of this mowing job. I can cut straight lines falling down drunk.
  6. The passenger side dogleg didn't look too bad from the outside, but once I got inside it proved to be just as bad as the D/S. Some of the KFV panels fit like a glove, here's the original rear seat mount placed on the new pan. But here on the slam panel support, it fits like an OJ Simpson glove, that 1/4" gap shouldn't be there, will have to do some nip/tuck.

Trico Classic appears to have a similar locking mechanism as the OEM Datsuns. You might be able to chuck the arms and use the blade if you are a stickler for originality .
  8. Nice set of photos, illustrating the logic of your metal-removal process. Too bad that one of the most complicated zones of the monocoque structure also happens to be the biggest rust pit.
  9. Swapped out the MT90 to the Swepco201 gear oil and the steel synchros are way way happier in giving me gears!! The roads have been salted around here so I warmed the car up on the drive - don’t try this at home kids!! The rough running engine is a function of my “on the choke adjustment” not being identical on the carbs. Swepco201 ain’t cheap but worth it if you have steel synchros.
  10. I used Interior Innovations for my seats and they turned out great! Here's the thread I posted on the seats and you wouldn't believe who requested more pictures. I also did the shift and e-brake boots from them. Of course this was 6 years ago so if you're like me the memory isn't what it used to be! 😉
  11. While a primer only, this would be better than bare, and to my eye, looks like the factory finish. Maybe buy a can, and if you don't use it for the calipers, ultimately, it is a very good primer.
