I found this video tonight and thought it was interesting. This guy is using a shop vac to blow air into the tank and another hose to pull the fuel out. And he was using a 73 Z for the video. ?

But isn't the Z the most excellent automobile from which to siphon gas? There's hardly another that gives you such quick and trouble-free access! (As a side note - I have to emissions check my 260Z every year here in the Phoenix area. The twits at the emissions station have NO WAY to check my gas cap. I love seeing them take it off, scratch their heads, shrug their shoulders, put it back on, and PASS the gas cap because they can't test it! You have to take joy in life where you can find it...)

When I was a teenager, all it took was a section of garden hose, a moonless night and a dependable lookout to get the job done.

Seems easier to just get a Harbor Freight hand pump and throw it out when you’re done...
  5. Exedy has yet to disappoint. Definitely my goto.
  6. Will look into it, thanks.
  7. Reminds me of a long ago girlfriend in the shower, are we still talking about Z's?

Not dissuading you from GA, but like Jim said above, Bentonville AR and surrounding area is very nice up in the Ozark Mtns. plus they have the NW Arkansas Z club up there. Nice Folks for sure. I'll personally vouch as I have a lot of good memories there.
  9. I think I hope I may have it. I was able to duplicate the sound by locking the steering wheel, wheels up, push hard 9/6 one way to "set it" then pull back and pop. I found the control arm bolt (17mm) less than torqued to spec (I got a socket on one side a wrench on the other) I could turn it pretty easy, not loose mind you but def not uga uga uga tight. any way tightened it up, check the other side (it was fine) and could no longer duplicate the pop with the car wheels up. Again too late to test drive tonight have to go clean up and call it a day. I think I intentionally delay testing like this so I can at least think I have if fixed. Will check in the morning and report back. So anyone else forget to tight the control arm bolts and if so do you recall any odd clunking sounds?
  10. One of they last place you want to save a dollar. I have been there and tried it. It didn’t take long to show a weakness.
  11. Antifreeze (ethylene glycol solution) with droplets of transmission fluid. The hydrophobic nature of the transmission fluid accounts for the "boob" formation. Capillarity accounts for the ring formation along the edges of the container. The lower density of the tranny fluid allows it to float on top of the ethylene glycol. How did they get to the container? I'm guessing you put them there? LOL!
  12. Yep, looks about right... lol
  13. This picture needs to be posted on the boobs thread!
  14. @Dave WM I had a similar type issue a few years ago. Looked for it for for a long time and that my passenger side tension rod was just loose enough to move only under same type of load. It was the two bolts holding it to the lower control bar. They were tight but not enough to keep it from a slight movement and a sound similar to what you described. Hope this helps.
  15. What about the calipers and pads? Are they tight? Hot out and bored, please excuse my redundancy.
